Now, let’s take a deeper look at each character and see what makes them one of the best Legends for ranked in Apex.

S-Tier

These are hands down the best Legends for ranked that you can use. They fit most team comps well and have some of the highest pick rates in the game.

Octane

Best Legends for ranked Octane.

Octane is a fast and mobile Legend that also offers mobility for his team. The added 40% speed boost when using Stims is crazy fast and makes him a very elusive target. His passive healing also allows him to stay healthy outside of battle. Octane can pull off crazy plays, has a short cooldown mobility ultimate, and is easy to use.

Bloodhound

Bloodhound offers information-gathering skills like no other. He’s always been a huge part of the meta, mostly because of his Eye of the Allfather tactical. He’s not just good for info, though. He can also battle it out with the best of them, especially when Beast of the Hunt is active.

Seer

Seer

Seer is one of the best Legends for ranked because of his ability to scan areas and detect enemies through walls. He provides incredible utility in ranked games and would make a great addition to any team. Seer also has a very useful passive that allows you to detect enemies.

Wraith

Wraith

Finally, we have Wraith. Wraith is one of the best Legends for Ranked if you have a more aggressive and independent playstyle. Into the Void can be used as a great escape tool, and your passive can be used to gather some info. Wraith also has a solid group mobility tool with Dimensional Rift.

A-Tier

These next set of Legends are still pretty fantastic picks and offer insane value in their own right. You can’t go wrong with playing any of these Legends in your rank games.

Horizon

Horizon

Horizon requires a different playstyle from the other Skirmishers in the game. She requires a bit more strategy and properly timing her skills to succeed. That doesn’t stop her from being one of the best Legends for ranked. If you know how to use Horizon properly, you’ll become a pain to deal with.

Pathfinder

Pathfinder

Pathfinder may look friendly, but he can pack quite the punch. He can create unique angles using his Zipline Gun or his Grappling Hook. He can also perform insane outplays and outmatch players with his mechanical prowess. Pathfinder can be a tough Legend to master, which is why he’s only in our A-Tier.

Bangalore

Bangalore is one of the few Legends that excels in both offensive and defensive plays. She can zone enemies by using Smoke Launcher and Rolling Thunder. However, Bangalore can also use her abilities to initiate fights. Bangalore also pairs extremely well with S-Tier Legends like Seer and Bloodhound, making her that much more powerful.

Lifeline

Lifeline

Lifeline provides heals, has a hands-free reviving drone, and a care package for an ultimate. If that doesn’t scream team player to you, I don’t know what will. She’s one of the best Legends for ranked if you’re looking to play a more supportive role.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is another top-tier Legend for ranked because she is incredibly good at providing mobility for her team. Her VTOL Jets are also very flexible tools that you can use to gain the high ground or outplay opponents. Missile Swarm can also be used to zone or engage. After all, she’s one of the most picked Legends in pro play for a reason.

Ash

Ash

Ash is one of the best Legends for ranked if you’re planning on being aggressive and find flanks. She’s insanely strong and features mobility, utility, and information gathering within her kit. Ash suits multiple playstyles and allows for unique outplays using her ult. The weakest part of her kit is her tactical, and that’s the only reason she isn’t higher on the list.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar

The final Legend in our A-Tier is none other than Gibraltar. Gibraltar is one of the best Legends for ranked if you’re looking for a defensive stronghold. His Dome of Protection covers a wide area for your team while zoning out using Defensive Bombardment. Gibraltar can also protect himself while firing back using his Gun Shield.

B-Tier

These next set of Legends are decent and can still excel when used in the right situations. They aren’t necessarily the best Legends for ranked, but they can still do well.

Catalyst

Catalyst

First up, we have Catalyst. Catalyst is a solid defensive Legend that’s perfect for locking areas up and zoning enemies. She can force enemies into unfavorable situations and create unique circumstances for her team. She can be quite difficult to master, which is why she’s at the lower tiers.

Wattson

Wattson is another great Legend for zoning out enemies. She can lockdown an area with Perimeter Security and keep her team healthy using Interception Pylon. Unfortunately, she’s just not that strong. Other Legends can provide better zoning abilities and defensive capabilities, which is why she’s in our B-Tier.

Newcastle

Newcastle

Like Gibraltar, Newcastle can also provide shields for his allies. However, Newcastle is a bit more support-oriented than Gibraltar. Newcastle is actually pretty strong. What drags him down a bit is his difficulty to use. Gibraltar offers a larger and more reliable shield, making him the hands-down better option.

Mad Maggie

Mad Maggie can be extremely powerful in the right situations. Unfortunately, that’s also her downfall. She’s only powerful in those specific scenarios, which is why you’re better off choosing a different Legend altogether. She’s not complete trash, though. But it’ll require a lot of work to make her great.

Fuse

Fuse

Fuse is a Legend that provides insane damage potential. He is one of the best Legends for ranked if you’re looking for a complete offensive powerhouse. However, he does lack mobility, and his Motherlode can be quite unreliable unless you’re simply using it to zone.

Loba

Loba

The final agent in our B-Tier is Loba. Loba actually has one of the most unique kits in the game. Unfortunately, uniqueness doesn’t always translate to greatness. While Loba can help with finding valuable loot, she becomes quite useless during the late game. Aside from her tactical, she basically has no utility that can be used in the late game, which is why she’s not that great for climbing the ranks.

C-Tier

This tier is where we’re starting to see some of the bad Legends that rarely anyone picks. They’re nowhere close to the best Legends for ranked and typically won’t do well unless you have specific strategies or complete mastery over their kits.

Crypto

Crypto

The first Legend in C-Tier is Crypto. Crypto is actually a pretty solid Recon Legend. However, he can be a bit difficult to use and has a very punishing kit. Not to mention that everything basically revolves around his Drones, so you’ll always need to micromanage. When you use Crypto you’re either fighting or using your Drone;there’s no inbetween.

Revenant

Revenant

Revenant used to be one of the best Legends for ranked. Unfortunately, updates, new Legends, and meta changes slowly made him worse. He can still be useful for hyper-aggressive players. However, you’re just better off choosing a different Assault Legend if you aren’t exactly a Revenant main.

Caustic

Caustic

Caustic is another Legend that suffers from being great only in specific scenarios. He can be a great zoner, but you’ll need to play around heavily with his Nox Gas Traps. If you don’t know how to set them up properly or if they’re destroyed, you’re kit is pretty much useless.

Vantage

Vantage

Vantage offers a very sniper-oriented kit. She excels in long-range battles and finding unique angles where she can snipe enemies from. This can be quite useless in the late game, though. This is especially true in the higher ranks, where the circle usually gets to a very small area before a winner is declared.

D-Tier

These last batch of Legends are the worst ones you can use to climb. More often than not, you’re simply better off choosing a different Legend than picking these ones.

Rampart

Rampart

Rampart has a relatively unique kit that offers a bit of defense and offense. Unfortunately, she’s just not that good at either. Her Amped Cover provides so little cover, unlike Gibraltar or Newcastle. “Sheila” can be used as a third weapon, but it’s quite slow and easy to counter. This leaves Rampart in an awkward spot.

Mirage

Finally, we have Mirage. At first glance, Mirage has an insanely fun kit. However, his fun kit doesn’t translate well into the battlefield. Most of the time, you’ll just feel useless and can’t really “bamboozle” anybody. His decoys are just way too weak and don’t offer much help to you or your team.
