Seer is an insanely powerful Legend from the new Recon class. He rivals Bloodhound’s scanning abilities and provides great information for his team. When used correctly, Seer will feel like having wall hacks on your side.

Learn about the different tips and tricks on our Apex Legends Seer guide to maximize him in your ranked games.

Save your Tactical

A common thing that most new Apex Legends Seer players do is using their tactical ability to initiate. While Focus of Attention can be a great initiating tool, you’re wasting huge potential by using it before fights.

The long 30-second cooldown means that you can usually only use your tactical once during fights. The best way to use it is to prevent enemies from healing or reviving. It also silences enemies for 1.25 seconds. This gives you a short window to push enemies and finish them off.

Listen to the (Heart) Beat

Seer’s Heart Seeker passive is incredibly strong in-game. It gives you free information without any cooldowns and allows you to sense enemies within 75 meters. His passive is one of the most underutilized tools by new Apex Legends Seer players.

Make sure to constantly spam it while moving around, getting loot, and after finishing a fight. You can use it to check for flanks, scout nearby areas, or simply check if anyone’s hiding nearby. Spam it as much as you can to get the most out of Seer.

Who Needs ADS, Anyway?

Seer’s passive can only be activated when using ADS or while aiming his tactical ability. ADS significantly slows down your movement, making Heart Seeker quite annoying to use when rotating or moving.

However, aiming your tactical ability only slows you down by 15%, which is significantly lower than the up to 65% slow when using ADS. This allows you to move faster while still being able to utilize your passive. You can always switch back to your weapon to cancel your tactical.

Difference in the Speed of the Heartbeat

If you haven’t noticed, the speed of enemies’ heartbeats is different, depending on their health. If enemies still have a lot of HP left, the heartbeat you hear will be slow and steady. However, the heartbeat speeds up if the enemy you are sensing is low health.

This is a small yet essential detail that all aspiring Apex Legends Seer mains should know. It gives you that extra bit of information you can use to plan if you want to push a low-health enemy or engage a full-health one.

Orange is the new Blue

Heart Seeker is one of Seer’s most important abilities. Knowing how to properly utilize it is crucial if you truly want to become an excellent Apex Legends Seer player. So you need to know the difference between blue and orange indicators when the passive is in use.

An orange arrow indicates the location of an enemy within 75 meters. If an enemy is within the reticle, the entire thing pulses orange. On the other hand, a blue arrow will appear when the enemy is in your sights and is within 75m.

You can use this to sense enemies through walls or to find enemies that you may have missed.

Proper “Exhibit” Placement

Your Exhibit ultimate is a great way to detect enemy squads within a 65-meter radius. It even reveals through walls. However, it can easily be destroyed if you leave it out in the open.

As an Apex Legends Seer player, your job is to find areas you can hide your ultimate, while still being able to scan enemies. Behind walls, boxes, rocks, on top of buildings, and on uneven areas are a few great locations to place your Exhibit.

Timing is Key

Finally, timing is key when playing Seer. Unlike Bloodhound, who is a relatively easy Legend to play, Seer requires a bit more patience. As we’ve mentioned above, you need to use your tactical ability as a way to cancel heals instead of using it to initiate.

You also need to properly time your Heart Seeker checks. And, of course, knowing the best time to bait or hide your Exhibit is crucial for any Seer player.

Find new teammates or host your own tournament to practice these tips and become a better Apex Legends Seer player.
