Caustic is one of the least-played Legends because of his high difficulty level. Using our tips, you’ll surely be better at Caustic in no time.

Barrel Barricade

It goes without saying that you should use your Nox Gas Traps as a way to barricade doors. All Apex Legends Caustic players know this trick, and it has been used ever since he was released.

Using your traps to barricade doors prevents enemies from entering buildings. Just make sure that you don’t leave your squad stuck outside!

Barrel Anti-Flank

Your Nox Gas Traps are also a great way to watch flanks. They should activate whenever an enemy gets near them, and you should be notified as well. Of course, you should also notice whenever enemies try to destroy your barrels.

Live and Die by the Gas

Caustic lives and dies by his Nox Gas. Knowing how to properly set up traps and when to use your Nox Gas Grenade are the first few steps you should take to become an Apex Legends Caustic main.

Always play around your smokes because you’ll have the upper hand with them. You either deal damage to enemies or zone them out from areas using your toxic gas.

One trick that not many Apex Legends Caustic players take advantage of is hiding in your Nox Gas. Your Nox Gas can easily camouflage you, especially if you crouch in a corner. Your opponent’s vision is already degraded by the gas.

This can help you buy some valuable time to revive a fallen teammate, get a quick heal, or reposition. You don’t always have to do damage with your Nox Gas Grenade. Sometimes it’s better to simply hide in it instead.

Bait Barrels

A common misconception by most new Apex Legends Caustic players is that you can only use your Nox Gas Traps indoors. While your tactical is definitely more powerful indoors, you can always use it outdoors as a bait or distraction to your enemies.

Throwing out a couple of Nox Gas Traps can confuse enemies and bait them to shoot it immediately. This gives you a short window to fire back at an unprepared enemy.

You can also use your Nox Gas to zone enemies and force them to go in a specific direction. Otherwise, they’ll get damaged by your gas, and you can finish them off using your weapons.

Nox Gas Initiation

Even though you’re a Controller Class Legend, you can still initiate fights using your skills. Most notably, you can engage enemies using your Nox Gas Grenade. Your ultimate covers a wide area and can quickly deal a huge chunk of damage to an entire squad.

You can use your Nox Gas Grenade, similar to Bangalore’s Smoke Launcher ability. Your passive basically acts as a Digital Threat, allowing you to easily mow enemies moving through your Nox Gas. Make sure to carry a reliable rifle like the VK-47 Flatline so that you can always spray enemies through smokes.

Poisoning Enemies to Death

The final tip we have on our Apex Legends Caustic guide is to throw Nox Gas Traps at downed enemies. This will make it harder for their teammates to revive them and give them less time as well.

You can even use knocked enemies to automatically trigger traps and create a Nox Gas smoke that you can play around in. Sometimes you can also get lucky and deal some additional damage to their other remaining teammates as well.
