Don’t Use Her Sonic Sensors Like Regular Traps

A common mistake that most new Valorant players make when using Deadlock is using her Sonic Sensors like Cypher’s Trapwires or Chamber’s Trademark. What they often forget is that the Sonic Sensors are only activated by sound, not by movement.

This means that you aren’t exactly safe if you only have a Sonic Sensor watching your flank. Enemies can easily walk it out, especially if they are just lurking. Sonic Sensors are best used in areas where you’re 100% certain that enemies will make some sort of noise.

Use Sonic Sensors on common plant spots, main entrances, and under drops, among many others.

Combo Your Sonic Sensors With Other Abilities For Quick Kills

As we’ve mentioned, Sonic Sensors are only activated by noise. This is why using them in main entrances, where enemies will almost always run while pushing, makes the most sense.

Sonic Sensors will always concuss enemies within their range. Pair it up with a quick Gravnet throw, and you can easily mow down the entire team. You can also pair it with your team’s damage abilities, like Raze’s Paintshells, Brimstone’s Orbital Strike, and Killjoy’s Nanoswarm, for deadlier combos.

Use Angles to Your Advantage

Deadlock’s Annihilation is hands down the best ultimate you can have in 1v1 situations. An enemy caught in your Annihilation ultimate can’t do anything. They can only rely on their allies to shoot them down before they reach the final marker.

However, Annihilation can only capture enemies if they come into contact with the nanowires. Luckily, they can bounce off surfaces and walls, making it easier to create crazy pulls, even when enemies are behind cover. So look for these opportunities whenever you have Annihilation up.

You Can Use Barrier Mesh to Block Spike Defuses

The final tip we have for you today in our Valorant Deadlock guide is to use your Barrier Mesh to block Spike defuses. Barrier Mesh is a great way to block Spike defuses because of its ability to quickly get deployed, unlike Sage’s Barrier Orb, which requires a bit more lining up to ensure that there are no gaps.

Just simply throw Barrier Mesh before playing post-plants, and you’ve already secured yourself an extra 30 seconds. Worst case scenario, you can hear them destroying the Mesh and peek for a quick kill.

You can also learn lineups for Barrier Mesh and use it a little later in the round. Be careful with lineups, though, since they can be a bit tricky, especially for covered plants.
