The Guardian
Many players often compare the Sheriff and Guardian. They have similar playstyles and can be used in a similar way. They can both offer one-taps, and both have a slow and controlled rate of fire. This is why I personally call the Guardian as the rifle version of the Sheriff.
At 2,050 credits, the Guardian isn’t cheap. It costs only 200 credits more than the Bulldog but still 650 credits less than the Phantom or the Vandal. This puts it in a great position for those force-buy rounds or when you’re running a bit low on economy during your team’s buy rounds.
Even though the Guardian deals a lot of damage and only requires two bullets to the body to kill, it is often held back by its slow rate of fire. You also can’t spam it through smokes that much because of its relatively small magazine size. This makes it a quite niche weapon that not everyone can excel at.
The Basic Stats
The Guardian has a headshot multiplier of x3 and a leg shot multiplier of x0.75. It doesn’t have any damage falloff, which means that it deals the same amount of damage at all ranges. It also deals the most amount of damage per bullet across all rifles.
It also has a fire rate of 5.25 rounds/sec, a reload speed of 2.5s, and a magazine size of 12 with 36 reserves.
Here are the basic damage stats for the Guardian:
- 0 – 50 meters – Head (195)
- 0 – 50 meters – Body (65)
- 0 – 50 meters – Legs (49)

The Guardian has an alt fire that allows players to use ADS (aim down sights) with a 1.5x zoom. It’s also the only weapon where the fire rate remains consistent whether using sights or not.

The Best Ways to Use the Guardian
The best way to use the Guardian is by fighting at long ranges. Its 1.5x zoom will definitely help you a lot, and you can also take advantage of its non-existent damage falloff multiplier.
Slow, calculated, and controlled shots are the way to go when using the rifle. Remember, it only takes one bullet to the head to kill. If you can hit that shot, you’re fight is over. Spamming won’t help you hit your target. Make sure to take your time and make your shots count.
The Guardian is also a solid weapon if you have an Agent like Sova or Fade on your team who can scan enemies. You can use the information they gather to wallbang enemies. Places like B main Ascent, mid window in Haven, and A tree on Lotus are a few great examples you can wallbang using the Guardian.
