Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded

Warzone 2 Season 2 is here. Check out our Season 2 Reloaded guide to keep up to date on the latest patch notes, meta changes, and key info you need to know to continue to bring home the wins.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Meta Key Takeaways

  • Overall, the Season 1 meta is still very viable
  • The new ISO Hemlock is fairly strong (already banned from MW2 Ranked!) — we place it in A-Tier
  • The RPK nerf hasn’t really removed it from the meta and along with the TAQ-56, they dominate mid-range guns
  • The Fennec, Lachmann Sub, and the X13-Auto are still deleting enemies at close range
  • On the balance, most meta weapons received a damage nerf to increase overall TTK
  • We don’t see a huge difference in meta options between Ashika Island and Al Mazrah
  • 1-shot sniping has not been added back to Warzone
  • For perks, a good place to start is Overkill, Double Time, Fast Hands, and High Alert
  • See our Best Warzone 2 Loadouts for each weapon, updated for Season 2

As we approached the launch of Warzone 2 Season 2, players were eagerly awaiting a shakeup to the RPK/Fennec meta. Now that Season 2 is here, at first glance, it appears players may have to continue to wait a little bit longer. Despite both weapons receiving nerfs during the latest weapon balancing, early results from top streamers show both weapons still above the rest of the competition.

Season 2 introduced custom perks and did away with fixed Perk Packages. A custom perk package has 4 slots. We currently recommend the following four perks to be competitive in Season 2 meta:

  • Overkill: Given the strength of LMGs (like the Sakin and RPK), which are typically optimized for long-range, you’ll still want to rock a close-range primary on swap, like the Fennec or Lachmann Sub.
  • Double Time: Increased movement speed will be critical given low TTK, especially for gaining an advantage in Resurgence
  • Fast Hands: Again, speed is the name of the game. Swapping between long and close range, reloads — it doesn’t get any better
  • High Alert: Huge for survivability, especially given low TTK

Ashika Island v. Al Mazrah Meta

While Ashika Island and Al Mazrah are obviously different in size, and therefor have different playstyles, we don’t currently see a huge difference in meta weapons between the 2 maps. Both maps have the same fast TTK, so both benefit from weapons with low recoil and high damage profiles.
