Valorant Harbor: Key Takeaways

  • Valorant Harbor skills: Cascade, Cove, High Tide, Reckoning.
  • Your goal on Attackers as Harbor: Block vision, take space using your abilities, and force enemies to back off.
  • Your goal on Defenders as Harbor: Try to delay enemies with walls, use Cove to protect the diffuser, and lead retakes with your abilities.
  • Curve your High Tide to cover as many angles as you can.
  • Try to save your Cove for Spike defuses or plants.

Harbor is a Controller that primarily uses walls as cover. Harbor does have more flexibility than Viper, mostly because of how he can control his wall, along with being able to redeploy it after cooldowns.

He’s definitely one of the more interesting Controllers in the game. Check out the tips and tricks in our Valorant Harbor guide to get to know him better.

Cascade Lasts Longer When It’s Moving

Cascade is Harbor’s moving wall ability. It allows him to push enemies to back off or to peek into an unfavorable situation. Cascade lasts for 7 seconds once it settles. It may not be the longest smoke, but it still works good enough.

However, you can make Cascade last longer. The 7-second countdown only starts when Cascade stops, not when it’s first moving. This means you can essentially force the wall to go its maximum distance to add a couple more seconds on top. This is an essential and crucial tip that Valorant Harbor players should know.

Try to Push Behind Your Cascade for Aggressive Picks

Cascade is one of the best vision-blocking abilities for aggressive pushes in the game. You can move with the ability to reposition yourself, hide from enemy vision, or get into sneaky corners.

Most enemies won’t suspect players moving behind Cascade, so you’ll oftentimes have the upper hand, even if they decide to push through it. Just remember that you can still get spammed through it if they hear you.

Use Cove as a Way to Enter Site

Cove provides a solid way to protect teammates while defusing or planting the Spike. However, it’s often underused as a site-taking tool. Cove has a 500 HP shield, which would take a while to destroy, even if multiple enemies were firing at it.

You could use it in a similar way to a Sage wall. Deploy it near entrances, use it as cover and protection, and just like that, you’re inside the site.

Reckoning Is a Solid Way to Take Site and Force Enemies Away

It’s not a secret that Reckoning isn’t the most powerful ultimate around. It’s definitely worse than other AOE ults like Breach’s Rolling Thunder or Killjoy’s Lockdown. However, it can still push enemies away or, at the very least, reposition.

It also gives you valuable information about players defending the site. You can see the Geyser strikes whenever enemies are inside Reckoning. This gives you enough time to decide whether to push enemies on the site or rotate.

The Best Ways to Effectively Use Harbor When Attacking

  • Make sure High Tide reaches those high angles when deploying.
  • Protect your Duelists using Cascade or Cove, but be ready to trade them when needed.
  • Use Reckoning to engage a site and to gather information.

The Best Ways to Effectively Use Harbor When Defending

  • Use Cascade to block entrances and slow down pushes.
  • It’s often better to play for retakes with most of your abilities up.
  • Use your Reckoning to lead retakes and save Cove for defuses.
