The Operator is an expensive sniper rifle that costs 4,700 credits. It’s the most expensive weapon in Valorant and can easily break your team’s economy if you aren’t careful.

However, the sniper’s power cannot be denied. It’s an insanely strong defensive tool that works best when paired with an Agent like Jett or Chamber. If a good player gets his hands on an Operator, it’s nearly impossible to peek angles without using utility first.

It is a hard weapon to use. You’ll have to know when to peek and how to peek whenever you’re using the Operator. With an extremely slow fire rate, one missed shot can easily cost you your life. It’s a high-risk, high-reward type of weapon and isn’t for the faint of heart.

The Basic Stats

The Operator has a headshot multiplier of x1.7 and a leg shot multiplier of x0.80. It doesn’t have any damage falloff and can kill using body shots and headshots at any range, regardless if an enemy has shields.

It also has a fire rate of 0.6 rounds/sec, a reload speed of 3.7s, and a magazine size of 5 with 10 reserves. This makes it have the lowest fire rate in the game.

Here are the basic damage stats for the Operator:

  • 0 – 50 meters – Head (255)
  • 0 – 50 meters – Body (150)
  • 0 – 50 meters – Legs (120)

The Best Ways to Use the Operator

The best way to use the Operator is by simply using it to hold long angles. Its up to 5x zoom is a godsend and allows you to see enemies clearly to hit your shots. You can try to hold long off angles since most players will try to blind or smoke whenever they know you’re using an Operator.

It’s often ideal to play a bit more defensively when you have an Op. You don’t need to take very aggressive duels because you can easily get traded if your enemies have some coordination. Sometimes patience is all you need to get those kills.

It’s also highly recommended to buy a sidearm like a Shorty or the Frenzy to help you protect yourself in close-range combat.
