Games Being Released in August 2023

There are a lot of cool games being released in August 2023. This fact really isn’t surprising though, as August is generally considered the best month of the year when it comes to game releases.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at which games are slated for release in August 2023.

Before we do that, however, might I interest you in the Z League app? It’s the best app if you want to fight a group of like-minded gamers such as yourself. After all, why play alone when you can play with a group of friends?

Sclash – August 4th

2023 is the year of fighting games, as Street Fighter 6 so kindly proved when it was released back in June 2023. Sclash, pronounced as “slash”, is a 2D fighting game where one proper cut is enough to end your opponent.

Sclash has some of the most beautiful art that we’ve seen in recent years. Which just goes to show that video games really are the highest art form. It’s quite hardcore as far as fighting games are concerned, with one hit being enough to kill you. However, if that sounds like something you’d like, then you should definitely get Sclash once it comes out.

Gord – August 8th

Gord is a grimdark city builder/adventure game that puts you in a world where Slavic mythology isn’t just a bunch of stories and fairytales. In it, you’ll have to manage your populace and keep them happy all while risking it all and venturing out beyond the city’s gate to solve the mysteries plaguing your land.

As a concept, Gord is definitely one of the most unique strategy games. It’s definitely not one for the faint-hearted, as you definitely won’t be having a walk in the park while playing this game. It’ll take all your wit and industriousness to survive the horrors of Gord.

Atlas Fallen – August 10th

Let’s be honest for a moment, Forespoken was a bit of a disappointment, and it left a lot of people disappointed. Thankfully, Atlas Fallen is right around the corner.

Atlas Fallen is a magical combat game that puts you in an enchanted land filled with monsters, myths, and artifacts beyond your comprehension. The game looks stunning, and from the gameplay we’ve seen so far, it has the potential to fill the gap that Forespoken could not fulfill.

Immortals of Aveum – August 22nd

Wait a second! Wasn’t this game supposed to come out in July 2023? Technically, yes. It was supposed to come out in July, however, the developers delayed it so that they could give the game some more polish before it launches.

Its become a trend in recent years to release broken games and fix them later. While it’s true that a broken game can be fixed later, the tarnished reputation that comes from releasing a broken game isn’t so easy to fix. So, good on Ascendant Studios for making that call.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

Who doesn’t love a good old mech game? Armored Core 6 is the latest entry in the Armored Core franchise, which comes to us a full 10 years after the last Armored Core game back in 2013.

Armored Core 6 will bring a breath of fresh air to the Armored Core series, thanks to the lessons learned by FromSoftware in the 10-year hiatus that the series had. It won’t be the “Dark Souls of mech games”, but it will definitely be unique compared to previous entries in the series.

Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the long-awaited sequel to Baldur’s Gate 2, which was released all the way back in 2000. This makes Baldur’s Gate 3 a sequel 23 years in the making. One can only imagine what the devs will have in store for us once we finally get our hands on Baldur’s Gate 3.

If you like isometric strategies, then Baldur’s Gate 3 is the game for you. The original game that was released back in the 90s inspired many of the most beloved isometric strategies that have come since. All of this goes to show what kind of legacy Baldur’s Gate has, which is exactly why you should keep your eyes on its latest installment.
