Key Takeaways for Smite Attack Speed Builds

  • The whole point of Attack Speed builds is to amass a lot of Attack Speed to have a lot of sustained damage
  • Attack Speed builds shine in the late game and takes a while to get fully set up
  • Hunters benefit the most from Attack Speed builds

Attack Speed Builds in Smite are probably the single most fun thing you can do in Smite. At a certain point, the attacks begin to look like a flurry right out of Dragon Ball, which is the exact reason you do attack speed builds in the first place.

Attack speed builds tend to benefit Hunters the most, as they’re the class that really shines with these builds. It’s not unheard off Assassins to also run attack speed builds, it’s just that they tend to benefit much more from high Physical Power or Crit builds.

The Most Important Attack Speed Items

Hunter’s Cowl

Smite Attack Speed Builds Hunter's Cowl

If you’re going to run attack speed builds, then you almost certainly have to go with a Leather Cowl at the start and upgrade it into a Hunter’s Cowl whenever you can.

The Hunter’s Cowl gives you +70 PP, +15 MP5, +10% Physical Lifesteal, and +20% Attack Speed on top of the 20% extra Attack speed you get from the aura.

Simply put, this item is the MVP! You can’t have an attack speed build in Smite without it. It alone gives you a +40$ increase in your attack speed, not even the Silverbranch Bow does that! The Hunter’s Cowl is arguably one of the best Smite items for sure.

Silverbranch Bow

Silverbranch Bow

The Silverbranch Bow is the 2nd item of your attack speed build that is absolutely indispensable. Although, you usually get this item right at the end of your build to get the most benefit from its passive.

Silverbanch Bow gives you +35PP, +30% Attack Speed, and +8% Physical Penetration. Its passive also gives you 2 Physical Power for every 0.02 Attack Speed that you go over 2.5.

The Crusher

The Crusher

The Crusher isn’t unique only to attack speed builds as it’s an all-around good item. It’s passive is why you’d want it as part of your build.

The Crusher gives you +50 PP, +15% Attack Speed, and +8% Physical Penetration. Its passive also causes enemies hit by your abilities to take bonus damage equal to 30% of your Physical Power, with subsequent hits doing half the bonus damage.

Ideally, you’d want this to be the first item on your list, it’s not a bad idea to get it even later if you want, but to ideally reap the maximum benefits you’d want to get it as soon as possible.

Toxic Blade

Toxic Blade

Toxic Blade is an incredibly underrated item, but absolutely essential for attack speed builds.

It gives you +100 Health, +15% Attack Speed, +10 Penetration, and +7 Movement Speed. Additionally, each time you hit an enemy, you reduce their Healing and Attack Speed, while increasing your own in the process.

This item pairs really well with Silverbranch Bow, as ideally, it gives you a +35% increase to your attack speed at maximum stacks.

The Perfect Attack Speed Build in Smite

Perfect Attack Speed Builds

The perfect attack speed build in Smite is the following.

  1. Hunter’s Cowl
  2. The Crusher
  3. Qin’s Sais
  4. Toxic Blade
  5. Silverbranch Bow
  6. Deathbringer

The Hunter’s Cowl, Toxic Blade, and Silverbranch Bow are there to give you the most attack speed possible. The Crusher and Qin’s Sais also give you attack speed, but it’s their passive that you’d really want them for. Finally, the Deathbringer massively increases your crit chance, and if you evolve it into the Envenomed Deathbringer, then you’re practically adding a cherry on top with the DoT effect you’re giving it.
