Key Takeaways For Apex Legends Ballistic Guide

  • Ballistic is the newest Legend introduced in Season 17
  • Ballistic is an Assault Legend
  • His abilities are Sling, Whistler, and Tempest

Today, we’ll be taking a look at Apex Legends’ Ballistic, the newest competitor in the Apex Games. However, his previous experiences in the Thunderdome Games have more than prepared him for the challenges ahead.

Ballistic got introduced in Season 17. According to the class system that was instituted in Season 16, Ballistic is an Assault, and possibly one of the best, if not the best Assault in the game.

Ballistic’s real name is Auguste Montgomery Brinkman, the sole inheritor of his family’s fortune. And just as billionaires do, he eventually gets bored of that life and joins the Thunderdome Games (the proto-Apex Legends). During his participation in the Thunderdome Games, he becomes one of the most beloved contestants, that is until he retires.

Ballistic’s Abilities

Apex Legend’s Ballistic is an Assault, as there’s really no other class that can fit his play style. Ballistic eats through a lot of ammunition, that’s basically his “thing”, so, having the ability to carry extra ammo really comes in handy.

Ballistic’s Passive – Sling

When we talked about the P2020, we mentioned that the only way it could become viable is if there was a third weapon slot that you could equip it to. Well, the devs apparently read that article.

Sling is Ballistic’s passive. It allows Ballistic to take a third weapon into his sling. He can later pull out this weapon by pressing H, incredibly useful for those tight situations when both you and your enemy run out of ammo. The only downside to this passive is the fact that the sling weapon cannot take any attachments. I guess it would be pretty overpowered if it could.

Ballistic’s Tactical Ability – Whistler

Whistler allows Ballistic to shoot out a special shoot that splashes and modifies the enemy’s weapons. If they continue firing while under the effect of Whistler, their guns will overheat and deal damage to them.

Oh, and as a cherry on top, if you hold down this ability it will also lock on to your enemies.

Ballistic’s Ultimate Ability – Tempest

Tempest is Ballistic’s ultimate ability, it’s an activatable ability, similar to what Bloodhound has. Unlike Bloodhound though, who’s the only person who benefits from his ability. Tempest buffs your entire squad. Once activated, your teammates gain an increase in their reload speed, and a faster move speed while armed.

The cherry on top is the final two effects. Once activated, not only do your teammates get the previous buffs, but they also get bottomless ammunition. You, on the other hand, have your sling weapon upgraded into a gold weapon. Lock and load then spray and pray till your heart’s content!

Tips For Playing With Ballistic

  1. You’re an Assault, as an Assault, you’re main purpose is to engage and dictate fights. Most Assaut Legends have abilities that excel at creating conditions for your team to come out on top. This is especially true of Ballistic, who not only buffs your entire squad but can also hamper the enemy by way of his tactical ability.
  2. Almost always carry a weapon that has high DPS in your third slot. Submachine guns like the R-99 and shotguns like the EVA-8 come to mind. The reason for this is that those kinds of weapons excel in close-quarter engagements. Since you can’t put any attachments on your third gun, having a sniper or other such situational weapons is a bad idea.
  3. Just because you have infinite ammo doesn’t mean you have infinite health. There’s no suppression mechanic in Apex, so make your shots count, and don’t be reckless.
