I’m sure that everyone enjoys a good drink every once in a while, Smite’s Bacchus however enjoys a good drink a bit too much, at least, a bit too much for what mortals can handle. But, seeing as he’s the God of wine, he probably doesn’t have to deal with hangovers in the morning. Then again, you can only get a hangover if you stop drinking, and Bacchus never stops drinking.

Before we proceed, you might be interested in the Z League app. Take a lesson from Bacchus, everything’s better with company, be it gaming or drinking.

Key Takeaways for Smite Bacchus Guide

  • Bacchus is the best Guardian in the game
  • Bacchus’s strongest role is as a support, though he’s a fairly strong solo-laner as well.
  • Bacchus is amazing for initiating and controlling team fights.

Bacchus Abilities

Smite Bacchus Guide Abilities

Bacchus’ passive is called Drunk-O-Meter. And, well, as the name implies it’s how drunk Bacchus currently is. Sobriety is a killer, that’s why Bacchus gains magical power and damage mitigation based on his current state. If he’s only tipsy he gets a small boost, however, if he’s smashed, he gets a larger boost.

Chug also does as the name implies, Bacchus takes a big chug of wine from his jug. Not only does this chug increase his Drunk-O-Meter, but it also heals him, increases his protections, and increases his magical powers.

With his second ability, Belly Flop, Bacchus leaps into the air and slams down on the ground soon after, launching any unfortunate enemies caught in the blast. If Bacchus is tipsy he also applies a slow on his enemies as soon as they land.

Belch of the Gods makes Bacchus release a mighty belch that damages enemies and reduces any healing they may receive. If Bacchus is tipsy, this ability also stuns the enemies for a short duration. I for one would not like to be on the receiving end of this.

Accidents happen, and Bacchus’ ultimate is the worst accident of them all! Whenever he activates his ultimate, Bacchus smashes his jug of wine on the ground, intoxicating all nearby enemies as well as doing damage to them. If Bacchus is smashed when doing this, he also gains a Magic Power increase for a short duration, on account of his ire over all the wine that’s been wasted.

Ideal Bacchus Build

Bacchus Build

Bacchus really shines as a Guardian, matter of fact, he’s probably the best Guardian in the game. We ranked him among the best Gods when we took a look at the best Smite Gods. Even though you can play Bacchus with a Magic Power build, you really won’t be getting the best out of him if you do so.

For starters, grab a Benevolence and a Cloak as your starting items. Your first ability can heal you, so it’s also smart to grab a Mana and a Multi potion as well. When you can, get a Cloak of Meditation and a Magic Shell, and upgrade these items into a Cloak of the Asceti and a Fortifying Shell as soon as possible.

Seeing as you’re a support, you’re probably not going to be getting a lot of farm in. Look to upgrade your starting items into a Heroism and a Prophetic Cloak, these might be the only items you’ll have for the entire game. If money isn’t a problem however, get a Gauntlet of Thebes, a Relic Dagger, a Stone of Binding, and finally, a Spirit Robe.

With all those items you should be sturdier than a brick wall. However, as was mentioned previously, you probably won’t be floating in money as a support, so look to upgrade your core items and then focus on the relics.

Tips for Playing With Bacchus

  • You should be the one initiating team fights unless there’s a Warrior on your team, then you should adopt a more supporting role
  • Upgrade your starter items as soon as possible and then focus on upgrading your relics.
