Heroic, FaZe, Monte, GamerLegion, Vitality, Into the Breach, Liquid, and Apeks will all have their shot at the lion’s share of the prize pool and the Major trophy.

Some teams are more favored to win it all than others such as Heroic and Vitality with the former having nine Major wins between all their players; squads like FaZe, Monte, and Liquid are all capable of pulling off surprise runs; while GamerLegion, Apeks, and Into the Breach all have serious upset potential on their own.

ZywOo Looking For His Crown

For as long as Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut has been in professional CS:GO, he has always been referred to as one of the very best in the world. From an individual standpoint, his accomplishments are only matched by an extremely select few after being named the best player in the world in 2019 and 2020, the second-best in 2021 and 2022, and a whopping 14 tournament MVP medals to his name.

Known as the one true rival to fellow superstar AWPer Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, the only thing missing from ZywOo’s trophy cabinet is a Major championship. Back in 2021, Natus Vincere (NAVI) won the PGL Major Stockholm which gave s1mple his crowning moment, putting him one step above ZywOo in the GOAT debates. Now, with s1mple out of the Major and a team that went undefeated in the Legends Stage, it’s undoubtedly the French sniper’s best shot at winning the coveted Major.

Heroic’s Revenge

Heroic was one series away from the organization’s first-ever Major at IEM Rio, but ultimately lost in the final to Outsiders. Now, they are one of the teams with the biggest chance of winning the grand prize in Counter-Strike.
Led by veteran captain Casper “cadiaN” Møller, Heroic went a perfect 3-0 in the Legends Stage with victories over FaZe, Apeks, and Liquid. They have also spent the entire year so far inside the top three on HLTV’s ranking, and are currently the second-best team in the world behind Vitality. With their best finish of 2023 coming from IEM Katowice where they placed second, cadiaN and company will undoubtedly give their all for one last chance at glory.

The GOAT of Majors: dupreeh

Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen is one of only four players in CS:GO history with four Major championships to their name. His legacy at Majors doesn’t end there either, as he is the only individual to compete at all 19 CS:GO Majors ever held since the very first one, DreamHack Winter 2013. To put his achievement into perspective, the feat is only matched by one entire organization – NAVI.

dupreeh won all four Majors under the legendary Astralis banner from 2017 – 2019. The three other quadruple-time champions are his former teammates Nikolai “device” Reedtz, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth who failed to qualify for the Major altogether. Armed with veteran in-game leader Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, rifler Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, superstar AWPer Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, and former Astralis teammate Emil “Magisk” Reif, dupreeh has a chance at cementing his spot in the history books as the greatest CS:GO Major player of all time.
