Limited Time Modes are a great way to take a break from the harshness and “sweatiness” of the gameplay that Battle Royale or Arenas provides. They are perfect for casual players looking for a quick way to enjoy Apex Legends and veterans looking to chill for a few minutes.

For those who aren’t aware, Apex Legends is receiving a massive overhaul for Season 16. This includes the introduction of remastered Legend classes, a new weapon, Team Deathmatch, and Apex Legends Mixtape Playlist.

The details aren’t complete yet, but Apex Legends Mixtape Playlist is basically the newest way to play Limited Time Modes. Mixtape is a way for Respawn to bring back permanent LTMs without making them feel too repetitive and limit the drop-off rate that new Limited Time Modes suffer from.

Limited Time Modes provide a ton of variety and give a breath of fresh air to Battle Royale by tweaking its rules. This is why newly released LTMs are often very popular with the community.

Mixtape will take the Limited Time Modes that Respawn thinks have the greatest potential and put them into a rotating queue. This is similar to the way current Battle Royale maps rotate.

The chosen modes and maps will change every 15 minutes. This provides a small window for players to enjoy the current pool without having to wait too long to play their favorite game mode.

Over the years, Apex Legends has introduced a variety of different Limited Time Modes. Some are tied to events, some are beloved, while others are better off forgotten. It can be difficult to decide which ones deserve a spot on Mixtape. However, the Apex Legends development team chose Control and Gun Run, at least for now.

Both Control and Gun Run are among the most popular LTMs that they have ever released. They generally received favorable reactions and increased play time compared to their other LTMs. It only makes sense to start the new Apex Legends Mixtape Playlist off with their most successful Limited Time Modes.

Starting off with only two LTMs is also a great way to ensure that everything remains balanced and well-maintained throughout their availability. The worst thing that Respawn can do is forget about these beloved games and let them lose popularity.

What Other LTMs Will Be Added to Apex Legends Mixtape Playlist?

It’s unknown yet when or what other LTMs will come to Mixtape Playlist. Apex wants to see the community’s reception of the current rotation first. However, they did state that they are currently working on various LTMs and will probably add them in the future.

The new LTMs are variants of the standard Battle Royale play we all know and love and the new TDM mode. They also stated that they don’t have any hard rules for Mixtape Playlist just yet, and some older Limited Time Modes might join the pool in the future as well.

At this point, it’s almost certain that they are going to add the other popular LTMs to Apex Legends Mixtape Playlist in the future. The highly probable Limited Time Modes to be included will most likely be Gold Rush, Locked and Loaded, Solos, Armed and Dangerous, or Déjà Loot.

When Will Mixtape Playlist Launch?

Although Apex Legends Mixtape Playlist will be available in Season 16: Revelry, it won’t be launched with the newest Season. For the first three weeks of Season 16, only the Team Deathmatch game mode will be available. After that, TDM will join Control and Gun Run on Mixtape Playlist on March 7, 2023.
