On Valentine’s day, Season 16 of Apex Legends has been launched, and we’re really excited about it. While the hours and days pass by, we’re really thinking about the shift the meta is going to experience. We’re thinking about the Nemesis, the brand-new gun that was added this season.
The first thing you need to understand is how strong the SMGs are right now: The CAR is melting, the R-99 got buffed and is hitting like crazy, and let’s not forget about the Prowler. If you are a controller player, you have to try it!
Second, we have to take into account that the Hemlok is in the care package. And the R-301, and the Flatline got nerfed, so… assault rifles are not really sitting in the best spot out there, but: What about the recently released gun, the “Nemesis Burst AR”? How does it work? Is it good?
Well, we got those answers for you.

Nemesis Burst AR
The Nemesis is the new energy gun that fires in 4-round bursts and is the direct rival that developers thought of for competing with the R-301. It has accurate hip fire, a sharp and clear ironsight, and it is the perfect gun if you like spamming.
How does it work?
This weapon has an energy bar that gets charged and filled as the weapon is fired. Therefore, the more you fight, the faster this gun will shoot.
Even if you don’t hit your shots, each fire burst adds a 16.5% charge to the bar. However, keep in mind that every 5 seconds that you don’t fire the gun, 15% of the charge will be lost.
Plus: Unlike the Hemlok, with the Nemesis, you can just hold the trigger and it will keep shooting.
Is it good?
The Nemesis is an absolute menace. Even though we know that new guns are always overpowered, this one feels like they released it a little bit too powerful.
This weapon sits right now at the top of the meta. Every lobby you get into will have almost 60 players in the game trying to get one of them and as much energy ammo as they can. And every time you take a look at the kill feed, this weapon is included in every fight within the game.
So… What will happen with this gun?
As when Seer was added back in Season 10, every time a new overpowered legend or gun is released. It will definitely get nerfed and balanced in the next patch. However, it will be only a small adjustment that will be healthier for the meta than its current state.
Probably in a couple of weeks once the updates have been implemented we will find a nice and very balanced gun meta. With SMGs and shotguns in the top positions without even mentioning the legends meta.
Plus: Nemesis Burst AR Skins?
Unlike when the Volt was released, this time we didn’t get a bundle with cool skins for the Nemesis. But, we do have 4 legendary skins with clear ironsights that will make you happy whenever you use the this gun:
Our favorite, the Twisted Transistor
Great colors, great design and especially great ironsight.
Superconductor
If you like yellow, this is definitely for you. Also, it has the same design as the Twisted Transistor so you’ll get a nice ironsight.
Street Legal
This is a different design of the weapon, with a more “sporty” look and cool stickers.
Streamlined
Same design as the Street Legal but, a much more controversial one because of how much it looks like the “Cardinal” skin that can be crafted with only 30 crafting materials.
