Warzone 2 Season 3 Release Date & Time
WZ2 & MW2 Season 3 will go live on Wednesday, April 12th at 1pm ET.
The update will be available to download on April 10th at 1pm ET, with patch notes being released between these two dates.
Warzone 2 Season 3 Patch Notes
Here are the main points you need to know from the WZ2 S3 Patch Notes. Scroll down for weapon specific buffs and nerfs!
- The Ricochet Anti-Cheat system received a massive overhaul, and can now detect third-party hardware
- Two new weapons, the FJX Imperium and Cronen Squall, were added to the game. Both can be unlocked via the Battle Pass
- A new Premium Battle Pass, Black Cell, was introduced, which features 12 new skin variations that can be unlocked. It is currently only available for purchase with cash
- Progression now maxes out at Prestige 13, which is unlocked at level 650
- One shot sniping has been added to Warzone 2. Bolt action sniper rifles with explosive rounds will be able to one shot down an opponent.

Warzone 2 Season 3 Meta
Season 3 is almost here! With every big update comes some sort of shift in the meta, and we anticipate Season 3 to be no different. Make sure to check back once the new meta begins to develop so we can keep you up to date on all the attachments and tuning you need to win every gun fight.
With the last few updates, we have seen the newest weapons introduced to the game immediately come into play and be top tier. This has included the ISO Hemlock, the KV Broadside, and recently the Tempus Torrent. Will this trend continue with season 3 and the release of the iconic sniper the Intervention (now called the FJX Imperium)?

New Modes
Ranked Play
After years of being requested by players, a ranked mode for Warzone will be added mid-season. While we don’t know all of the details yet, here are a few things we do know:
- Games will be played in Trios
- Rules will be similar to the World Series of Warzone rules, which excludes features such as vehicle mounted turrets
- There will be a top 250 leaderboard, similar to Ranked Mode in Modern Warfare Multiplayer

Plunder
The popular mode from the original Warzone will be making its WZ2 debut during season 3!
In the game mode respawns are enabled, and teams race to collect the most cash before one team hits the goal or time runs out!
Massive Resurgence
Are you a fan of Resurgence on Ashika Island, but also like Al Mazrah? Well you don’t have to pick a side anymore, but Resurgence is coming to Al Mazrah!
Massive Resurgence will include all the traditional resurgence mechanics, but will be played on Al Mazrah with up to 150 players. Be prepared for non-stop action and fast-paced chaos!
New Features
New Gulag
A new Gulag will be introduced to Al Mazrah at the start of season 3!
The new Gulag location is named “The Blacksite” and will have long exterior lanes as well as some interior close combat spaces. This map will also serve as a Gun Fight map in Modern Warfare 2’s Gun Fight game mode.
Redeploy Drones
Redeploy drones have been on Ashika Island since the Season 2 Reloaded update, and are a redesign of the Redeploy balloons from the Warzone Caldera. With Season 3 they will be making their way to Al Mazrah, allowing for new movement options on the large map.
Tempered Plated Carriers
Tempered plates were first introduced in Caldera, and allows your operator to replate fully using only 2 plates as opposed to 3. This allows you to save time when replating and get back into the fight – or away from danger – as quick as possible!
UAV Towers
UAV Towers have been in DMZ since launch, and are now making their way to Battle Royale. UAV Towers are fixed locations on the map that can be activated to give you a local UAV for a period of time. Once activated the tower will show red on the map and nearby players will get an audio cue that it has been activated, so enemies will know you are at the tower.
New Weapons
FJX Imperium
A new name for the iconic Intervention Sniper from earlier CoD titles, this bolt action sniper will be available through the battle pass.
“Engineered destruction at its finest, this anti-personnel, bolt-action sniper rifle intervenes in tense situations with hard-hitting .408 rounds.“
Cronen Squall
This Battle Rifle will also be available through the Season 3 Battle Pass, and is designed for range and damage.
“A bullpup, semi-automatic rifle chambered in 6.8 Wrath and designed for distance shooting and exceptional damage output.”
Additionally, 2 fully automatic pistols will be introduced with the Reloaded update mid-season.
