EDIT: Recent leaks suggest that the season 2 start date could be delayed until February 15th or 16th, roughly 2 weeks later than previously suggested. Continue to check back for updates as they become available!

The start of Warzone 2 Season 2 is just a few weeks away. Season 1 gave us Warzone 2.0, the new Al Mazrah map, DMZ, and 4 new guns, such as the M13B assault rifle and Victus XMR sniper. That’s a lot of content! What can we expect with Season 2? While there is no official Warzone 2 Season 2 announcement yet, we can take a look at leaks, rumors, and historical data to put together a picture of what to expect, and when to expect it.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Start Date

The current Battle Pass season is slated to end on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023. Since Call of Duty usually releases its larger updates on Wednesdays, it is fair to assume this is when they will release Season 2 along with the new Battle Pass.

Historically, season updates have been pushed out at 1pm ET. We expect the new season will likely follow suit and launch at or around that time on February 1st.

What’s Dropping in Warzone 2 Season 2

New Weapons

Each new season usually introduces new weapons to the game for play in both Warzone and Multiplayer. In the past we have seen two new guns at season launch as part of the Battle Pass. This tends to be followed up with additional guns mid-season, unlocked through blueprints or in game challenges.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but various leaks point towards season 2 bringing back a staple in the Crossbow, as well as introducing a brand new shotgun in the Vepr-12.

New Resurgence Map Leaks

With the launch of Warzone 2.0, we also lost the popular Resurgence gameplay maps Rebirth Island & Fortune’s Keep. As of now, these maps will not be making a comeback. During the initial lead into Warzone 2.0, Call of Duty announced a new Resurgence map would release sometime in 2023.

Here we are in 2023, and leaks report that we could be getting the new Resurgence map as part of Season 2. We won’t know for sure if these leaks are accurate until an official Season 2 roadmap is released later this month, but this would be a huge win for fans of the smaller Resurgence style gameplay compared to the large Al Mazrah map and Battle Royale game play.
