Valorant Episode 7 Progression System

In order to reward players for their daily engagement with the game, Riot has introduced a new progression system. Previously, you had 2 missions on a daily basis that could be completed for XP. However, now your daily missions not only award you XP, but a new in-game currency known as Kingdom Credits.

Earning Kingdom Credits

Now you can play games daily to progress through a new system called Checkpoint Track. It includes 4 checkpoints, each one earning you a set amount of XP and Kingdom Credits. All the game modes except Deathmatch contribute towards your progress on the daily Checkpoint Track.

One of the most unique things that are updated with this act is the ability to purchase rewards from previous battle passes. This feature was not available in Valorant before. However, now there’s a separate Accessories store featuring previous battle pass rewards that can be bought using Kingdom Credits. Keep in mind that these rewards are on a random rotation that is changed on a weekly basis.

Another major change with the introduction of Kingdom Credits is the way agent contracts work. Now the traditional contracts have been removed and replaced with an Agents store. Here’s what you can do in this store.

  1. Recruit an agent: Once the recruitment event of an agent you haven’t unlocked is expired, you can use Kingdom Credits to recruit that agent.
  2. Acquire agent gear: While previously you needed XP to acquire the gear of any agent, now you can purchase the gear by spending your Kingdom Credits.

Valorant Episode 7 Ranked Changes

Valorant Episode 7 Ranked tier changes

Now that Episode 6 of Valorant Ranked has ended, you will be awarded a gun buddy that reflects the peak rank you achieved during the Episode as a token of appreciation. Moreover, Valorant Episode 7 Ranked will see a complete reset of your rank, meaning you’ll have to play 5 placement games to get placed into a new rank and grind up from there.

Keep in mind that you still get to keep your hidden MMR that determines your elo, despite the rank system. This means you’ll still get in the lobbies with players that are the same skill level as you. Moreover, you will see a change in your RR gain after placements. Since the players get placed into a lower rank compared to their MMR, they will obtain a lot more RR upon winning games than the RR that’s deducted upon losing.
