The Classic is the default pistol that’s given to everyone once they spawn. It’s the only sidearm in Valorant that features two different firing modes. The default firing mode is a semi-automatic single-bullet shot that’s perfect for more precise and long-range battles. The secondary fire is a burst shot that acts like a shotgun, dealing firing three bullets in a spread.

It can be used in both short to medium-range battles because of the versatility that its two firing modes bring. It can even outclass some of the more expensive weapons in the game in certain situations. This makes it a solid choice for times when your team is low on economy and needs to save.

The Classic has a headshot multiplier of x3, a leg shot multiplier of x0.85, and a 30m+ damage fall-off multiplier of x0.846.

From the data shown above, we can see that the Classic is most effective at close to medium-range battles. On average, it takes around 1 headshot and 3 body shots to kill an enemy with full shields and HP. However, it only takes around 2 burst shots to kill an enemy, assuming that all bullets hit.

At battles above 30 meters, the pistol is a lot weaker. The number of shots to kill are generally increased by at least one and in some cases two.

Best Ways to Use The Classic

For very close-range battles, it’s best to use the Classic’s secondary fire. The burst shots that it deals are way too powerful at close-range, allowing you to possibly get a kill in a shot or two.

You can also do a jumping burst shot for surprise attacks. It may not be as accurate, but at nearly face-to-face range, it rarely even matters. You can also combine it with movement abilities like Jett’s Updraft or Raze’s Blast Packs for some added surprise factor. I highly suggest aiming around the neck or upper body area when using the Classic’s burst fire.

For all the other ranges, the primary fire is your only friend. It’s precise and semi-automatic, allowing you to deal some pretty significant damage if you can hit your shots.

Like most weapons, you should always aim for the head. In most cases, two headshots will kill your opponent. However, a single headshot will require at least three more body shots to kill. This is why it’s important to stay calm and try to tap those heads.
