Key Takeaways For Smite Item Stats Guide

  • There are 4 items categories in Smite with their respective sub-categories
  • General items are items that serve a general purpose: potions, wards, relics, etc…
  • Offensive items are the items that boost your offensive stats
  • Defensive items are the items that boost your defensive stats
  • Utility items are items that offer you some sort of utility

Knowing what each Item stat in Smite does is one of the most important skills to have. There’s nothing more frustrating than having a teammate who doesn’t understand this simple concept and just builds whatever they want.

Not only does having the wrong items not help you in any sort of way but it can even be a detriment to you and the rest of your team. Thankfully though, the UI in Smite is quite helpful in pointing you in the right direction. That being said, it still helps to invest some time to learn what the different Smite Items are and what they do.

The 4 Item Categories

In our previous guide on the different Smite items, we mentioned that Smite divides its items into  4 categories. So let’s recap what we said. There are 4 item categories in Smite, those are the General Items, the Offensive items, the Defensive items, and the Utility items. These items are then further divided into their respective sub-categories.

General Items in Smite

Smite Item Stats Guide

Popular Items are the items that are the most popular for the God you are playing. Consider these items as a premade God Build. These items should only serve as suggestions, so, most of the time you should probably ignore these and go for items that are more useful for the situation at hand.

Consumables are the different consumable items, potions, wards, that sort of stuff.

Relics are unique and powerful items that give you some sort of extra ability, usually a buff or a special ability like a blink. You can have 2 of these, so choose wisely.

Starter Items are powerful items that you can pick up at the start that give you key early-game bonuses. These items can be upgraded into a much more powerful version at Level 20, so it’s always a good idea to grab one of these items.

Glyphs are unique upgrades that some items get. These glyphs can augment certain items and give them an extra effect… for a certain price of course.

Shards are unique free items that give you some sort of a boost early on. These are quite useful at the start but should be exchanged for more useful relics later on in the match.

Offensive Items in Smite

Offensive Items

Power items in Smite are the items that increase your attack power. There are 2 types of Powers in Smite, Physical and Magical. Thankfully though, when you’re playing a God that uses a certain kind of power, the items that you can’t use aren’t present on the list. So if you’re playing as a Mage, you won’t encounter items for an Assasin and vice versa.

Attack Speed items are the items that increase your attack speed. These allow you to perform subsequent basic attacks much faster.

Lifesteal items (both Physical and Magical) increase your life steal when you deal damage to enemies. Basically, each time you deal damage to an enemy a percentage of that damage is transferred to you as health.

Penetration items give your attacks a certain % of penetration. The penetration stat basically counters Gods that have high defenses.

Crit Chance items increase your crit chance, pretty self-explanatory.
