Fan favorite playlist Shoot the Ship has made its long awaited arrival in Modern Warfare 2. When Modern Warfare 2 first launched, players were able to play on 10 maps, which were generally well received (besides Border Crossing). Call of Duty staple maps Shoot House and Shipment were added during Season 1. This marked the 3rd time in the last 4 Call of Duty titles to include Shipment. Both of these maps play fast paced, and are favorites of players looking to level up guns quickly, or complete their camo challenges

With the addition of Shoot House at the beginning of Season 1 players had access to the Shoot House 24/7 playlist, which includes a variety of game modes all played on Shoot House with no map rotation. This playlist was replaced by Shipment 24/7 when Shipment was added with the mid-season update. Now towards the end of the season, the Shoot the Ship has been added as an available playlist, which rotates between the two maps. Having both maps gives players a wide variety of sight lines and chaos for quickly completing the camo challenges.

Shoot the Ship’s arrival follows a twitter poll in which fans were asked which playlist they wanted between the three, with Shoot the Ship getting over 45% of the total vote. There has been some negative feedback, as players on Twitter and Reddit have noted that the Shoot House map seems to rotated in significantly more than Shipment, which was also the feeling with Modern Warfare 2019’s version of the playlist.
