Mechabellum Rhino Guide

Welcome to our Mechabellum Rhino Guide. The Rhino is quite aptly named, as it attacks just as a Rhino does in real life - head-on and with a lot of vengeance!

Mechabellum Rhino Guide

The Rhino in Mechabellum is one of the most notorious call-ins in the game. Mind you, it’s also available as a regular unit. However, most players tend to use its call-in variant more, as it’s unexpected.

Surprise is the Rhino’s greatest strength. It comes in unexpected, destroyed everything it can, and moves on (if it doesn’t get destroyed in the process). However, when it doesn’t have the element of surprise, it tends to struggle.

Do you hate playing alone? Most people do. If that’s the case, then you should definitely check out the Z League app. Its LFG feature will help you find a game at a moment’s notice.

Key Takeaways for Mechabellum Rhino Guide

  • The Rhino is the only melee Single-Entity unit in the game currently.
  • Rhinos specialize in taking out other Single-Entity units and Squads but suffer against air units
  • Surprise is the Rhino’s greatest strength. Without it, it’s easy to counter them.

The Rhino and its Upgrades

Mechabellum Rhino Guide

Rhinos are the only Single-Entity unit currently in the game that’s strictly melee. This means that it has to reach the target before it can unleash its onslaught on them. Easier said than done, however. But, with the right upgrades, that task becomes more feasible.

Whirlwind is the first tech upgrade available to your Rhinos. This upgrade gives your Rhinos the ability to attack multiple units at once. With this upgrade, whenever your Rhinos get surrounded by multiple enemies, they’ll begin to spin around in a whirlwind; dealing damage to all nearby enemies.

Photon Coating gives your Rhinos the Photon Coating effect at the start of the round. Photon Coating reduces the damage your units take and makes them immune to every detrimental effect (ignitions, electromagnetic attacks, and acid attacks).

Field Maintenance repairs a percentage of your maximum Health Points every second. This effect is active throughout the round.

Final Blitz turns your Rhino into walking bombs. Whenever a Rhino reaches 0 HP, they activate a self-destruct mechanism that causes them to explode in a 48-meter radius. The explosion deals damage equivalent to your Rhino’s maximum health.

Mechanical Range increases the Movement Speed of your Rhinos and decreases the interval between each attack.

Wreckage Recycling gives your Rhinos a “lifesteal” effect. Upon destroying an enemy unit, your Rhinos restore HP equivalent to the destroyed unit’s maximum HP.

Power Armor increases the Health Points of your Rhinos by 25% and makes them completely immune to slows.

Armor Enhancement works a bit differently with the Rhino than with other units that have this upgrade. Unlike other units, the Rhino doesn’t receive an increase to its maximum Health, instead, it only receives the shield, which can block 60 points of damage. The shied does stack with each level-up though.

The Strengths of the Rhino and How You Should Use Them

Marksmen

Rhinos excel at taking out other Single-Entity units as well as taking out Squad units. They just have to close the distance first. Thankfully, the Rhino has multiple upgrades that make that more feasible.

As was mentioned before, surprise is the Rhino’s greatest strength. That’s why you should use Rhinos as flanking units to get behind the enemy’s lines, to destroy the enemy’s structures, and any pesky Marksmen camping in the back.

If you have the resources for it. Getting the Final Blitz upgrade and scattering a few Rhinos across the map is also a viable tactic, as you’ll be basically saturating your opponent with walking bombs.

The Weaknesses of the Rhino and What You Should Avoid

Melting Point

Since the Rhino is a SIngle-Entity unit, it has the same weakness as all Single-Entity units – that damned Melting Point! Melting Point is your worst nightmare, no matter what upgrades you take. The situation only gets worse if your opponent deploys a unit of throwaway mobs in front of your Rhinos.

Your Rhinos will be too busy taking them out while Melting Point takes you out. Another counter you have is air units. Rhinos simply don’t have an answer to them. Even a puny squad of unupgraded Wasps can destroy your Rhinos. That is why you should always have a supporting unit with your Rhinos to take care of any air threats.
