Kraber: Apex Legends Weapon Guide

The Kraber sniper rifle in Apex Legends is used for those situations when conventional diplomacy has failed.

Kraber

The Kraber sniper rifle is perfect if you want to take out an enemy at range, and his neighbor’s fridge three blocks down. It’s the definition of unnecessary firepower, which coincidentally is the best kind of firepower there is. Until rocket launchers are introduced into the game, the Kraber will probably remain the best tool for punching a big hole in the enemy.

Wait, the Kraber is Also a Part of the Game?

Ok, sarcasm aside. Yes, the Kraber is a part of Apex Legends, but its spawn chance is so low that you can go on for hundreds of games without even seeing the thing. Since it’s a care package drop, you can’t just pick it up off the ground. What’s more, if you run out of ammunition with this thing, well, you’re out of luck then. That’s why a lot of players will say things like “Seeing the Kraber in a game is like seeing a comet.” And just like a comet (which is effectively a very big rock), the moment it hits, it deals a lot of damage. So, if you ever happen upon it in a game, be sure to pick it up, as it’s probably the best care package drop there is.

The Stats of the Kraber

Now let’s see what makes it #1.

Jesus! Yeah, that damage is definitely very impressive. But, then again, you wouldn’t expect any less from a .50-cal sniper rifle.

Attachments for the Kraber and Ideal Set-Up

In the following 2 sections of our weapon guides, we usually take a look at what attachments you can attach to the given weapon and how to ideally set it up. With the .50-cal, you don’t get that privilege, as it comes with only 1 attachment on it, the 6x-10x Variable Sniper Scope. You also come with 8 backup ammo but considering that a full magazine is only 4 rounds, you better make those shots count. And in reality, the Kraber doesn’t need any more, as it can 1 shot kill most enemies if you hit them in the head – except for the dreaded enemies with a red shield.

The Kraber Compared to the Other Supply Drops

Compared to the other supply drop weapons, the .50-cal reigns supreme. Over the seasons, the weapons which can be found in a supply drop have varied, except for the .50-cal, and for good reason. Conceptually, the Kraber is too powerful to be a non-supply drop weapon, even if you rebalanced it, it would still be exceptionally powerful.

The Bocek Compound Bow is probably the closest contender to the Kraber, as it’s arguably also a longer-range weapon, but even the Bocek doesn’t come close to what the .50-cal can do. In the end, the Kraber reigns supreme. The G7 Scout was also once a supply drop weapon, that one’s also a good gun, but nothing compared to the .50-cal’s output.

Potential Balance Changes for the Kraber in the Future

It’s unlikely that we’ll ever see any changes done to the Kraber. We might see a rebalancing of its damage per shot, or maybe even the amount of ammunition you receive from the drop, but anything more than that is highly unlikely. One change that I’d desperately like to see is for the .50-cal to join the regular rotation and become a weapon that can be picked up off the ground, just for one season at least. The chaos that would ensue from that kind of change would be pretty hilarious, and it probably wouldn’t be unheard of friendships ending, as people fight over who gets to pick up the Kraber. But alas, something like that might be a bit too silly, even for a game like Apex Legends.
