SO-14 Current META: S-Tier

The SO-14 is an original WZ2 launch weapon that has seen significant buffs in Season 4 meta. (see the full Warzone 2.0 Tier-list here). The SO-14 may be unlocked by reaching EBR-12. This weapon has a moderate rate of fire, mobility, and low recoil, with the potential to be a great mid-range option.

How to Unlock the SO-14

You can unlock the SO-14 by reaching Level 12 on the EBR-14.

  • Tactical equipment: Smoke Grenade. Smoke Grenades are incredibly effective in Warzone 2.0 given the game’s short TTK. Smoke grenades will significantly hinder an opponent’s ability to acquire targets and are a great way to disengage from a fight when the cards are stacked against you.
  • Lethal equipment: Drill Charge. In our opinion, this is one of the most ‘broken’ items in the current Warzone 2.0 meta as it gives a massive boost to player awareness, which pairs well with the slow and methodical pace of the current game.

  • Battle Hardened: You are in close range and this perk will help with all the more annoying enemy equipment. i.e. Flash Grenades, Stun Grenades, etc
  • Double Time: Increased movement speed will be critical given the short term, especially for gaining an advantage in Resurgence
  • Fast Hands: Again, speed is the name of the game. Swapping between long and close range, reloads — it doesn’t get any better
  • High Alert: Always know when an enemy has you in their crosshairs, even if you can’t see them

Potential Balance Changes in the Future for the SO-14

The SO-14 is one of the best Battle Rifles in the Season 4 meta at this time. Recently, we have seen the newly introduced weapons take over the WZ2 meta, but it is refreshing to see a launch weapon being a meta weapon now. This trend could continue and we could see Season 5 weapons replace the SO-14 at the top of the food chain.
