Valorant’s Patch 8.01 has brought a series of changes, but the one eliciting the most talk is the reopening of A Halls on the Breeze map.

Summary

  • Most players are welcoming the change and expressing positive sentiments.
  • Few users questioned the initial camera positioning and expressed annoyance.
  • But, some still find the Breeze map as a whole problematic.

The Excitement Surrounding A Halls Reopening

Players like ShadowEllipse and haste57 hailed the halls opening as a positive step, finding the map “pointless without the hall” and feeling the map was worse when the hall had been removed.

Questioning Previous Changes

A not-so-small faction of players including NotRiceProfile posed the question many were thinking- Why was the hall removed in the first place? Giving life to the age-old adage, ‘if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.’

Breeze Map, A Love/hate Relationship

While most players were all cheers for a hall, some, like -XBOi and SuperSandwich12, were still not impressed. They generally felt Breeze will still be “hot diggity dog shit” and called for getting this “awful” map out of competitive play and bringing back Haven or Pearl.

Overall, the sentiment within the community seems to be one of relief, almost as if a universally dreaded math teacher just took a sick day. Yet, amidst all the joys and sighs of relief, we can’t forget the bittersweet anguish of our dear jann1442 who must now “waste a cypher trip every round…”, proving that every silver lining indeed has a cloud.
