  • Don’t forget to still play with your team, even though you’re fast.

Neon is a high-pace, high-energy type of agent. She can be very fun to play as, especially when her ultimate is up. Neon brings speed and electricity to the battlefield, creating chaos with her abilities.

Continue with our Valorant Neon guide to help you master the best way of playing as Neon.

Keep Moving When Overdrive Is Up

Most new Valorant Neon players make a common mistake: treating Neon’s Overdrive like Jett’s Blade Storm. While both ultimates can be substituted for weapons, you should play them very differently.

With Neon, you need to be more aggressive and look for enemies whenever you use your ultimate. It remains very accurate while on the go, and the speed that you get can make you a very hard target to hit. Make sure to always be on the run so that you can get your resets and extend the duration of Overdrive.

Use High Gear Aggressively

High Gear is one of the best parts of Neon’s kit. It can disrupt plays, bait out utility, and get you out of tricky situations quickly. You can use High Gear to take early battles by simply running to the site and ignoring shots and utility fired at you.

You can also use High Gear to reach high places and get to angles at the start of rounds because of the momentum it creates. Your enemies won’t know what hit them!

Slide and Gun Your Opponents

Usually, running and gunning isn’t the best strategy to win fights in Valorant. However, with Neon, you can get away with a lot. One of the best tricks is sliding and gunning. While this isn’t as accurate with weapons like the Phantom, Vandal, or Spectre, it can be very powerful with the Judge.

You can activate High Gear, run into the site, slide when you see an enemy, and fire away with the Judge. Most of your shots will hit if you are close enough, and the enemy won’t see it coming. It’s one of the most annoying strategies for enemies to deal with, but it’s definitely fun on your end.

Relay Bolt Will Always Hit the Ground

Now, this next trick is something that not a lot of Valorant Neon players know about. Even some high-ranked players may not know it. You can use Relay Bolt on high walls or even ceilings, and it will always stun players on the ground. It doesn’t matter if it bounces out of the map after. As long as the first bounce hits the wall, it’s going to stun that area.

This is an incredibly useful trick that you can use to create lineups. It’s also tough for enemies to counter because they won’t see the Relay Bolt coming. Just be careful that it doesn’t backfire and stun your team instead.

The Best Ways to Effectively Use Neon When Attacking

  • Use Fast Lane to block vision and High Gear to enter sites.
  • Use Overdrive as a substitute weapon. It can be very powerful on eco rounds.
  • Peek off your Relay Bolt usage.
  • Ask teammates for smokes or blinds before entering.
  • Don’t leave your team behind.

The Best Ways to Effectively Use Neon When Defending

  • Get early information by jump-peeking using High Gear.
  • Use Relay Bolt to help delay pushes.
  • Try to flank and get picks, then return to safety using High Gear.
  • Use Fast Lane to retake.
