Jarvis the NPC

Tekken 8 is basically my first Tekken, but not my first fighting game. Going in, I knew from experience that in other games unranked tends to be flooded with streamers and pros fucking around on alts. So when I got the game, I figured my best shot at getting matches in with other newbies was to just jump straight into Ranked, and I’ve lived there ever since.

Summary

  • Embarking on a Ranked journey straightaway may not be unconventional in the Tekken community.
  • Quick Match is seen as a place for fun or practice, while Ranked is the arena for serious competition.
  • Players vary in their approach, from exclusively playing Ranked to mixing in Quick Matches for warm-up or diversity.
  • Some prefer the pressure of Ranked for skill improvement, while others value the relaxed environment of Quick Match.
