Stalcraft Weapons Guide

There are 7 different weapon categories in Stalcraft, and it’s important to know what each of them does. What their strong suits are, what their weaknesses are, and most importantly – to know what weapon to bring in your next gunfight!

In Stalcraft, you have the option of putting all your eggs in a single basket. However, if you do choose to go down a single tree, you’ll be drastically underpowered in certain situations.

This is why we advised in our Stalcraft Beginner Tips and Tricks guide that you should always purchase the latest weapon type available in your current area before moving on to the next.

Do you hate playing alone? After all, it’s better to scavenge the Zone with a battle buddy by your side. If that’s the case, then you should definitely check out the Z League app. Its LFG feature will help find you a gaming buddy in no time.

Key Takeaways for Stalcraft Weapons Guide

  • There are 7 weapon types in Stalcraft
  • Assault rifles and submachine guns are great all-around weapon types
  • Machine guns are the best weapon type in the game
  • Sniper rifles are the best for PvP
  • Shotguns are the best for PvE

Assault Rifles in Stalcraft

Assault Rifles Stalcraft Weapon Guide

Assault Rifles are the perfect all-around weapon. They’re good at range, have a relatively high magazine capacity, deal good damage, and are useful in every situation.

The drawback to this is that they’re not the best at any one particular thing. Regardless of that fact, they’re still the preferred weapon type of many a Bandit or Stalker. It’s better to have a trusty assault rifle by your side than no weapon at all.

Submachine Guns in Stalcraft

Submachine Guns

Submachine Guns are an interesting category of weapons. They’re similar to assault rifles, however, unlike assault rifles, they have poor performance at range. However, if you manage to get close to an enemy, you’ll most likely come out on top.

This is the main strength and weakness of submachine guns. They have an exceptional rate of fire and a large magazine capacity. Furthermore, their recoil is much more manageable than an assault rifle’s. However, good luck hitting anything past a few dozen meters.

Machine Guns in Stalcraft

Machine Guns

Machine Guns are an interesting weapon category. According to many, they’re the best weapon type in the game. They have the most magazine capacity out of any weapon type, higher than average damage per round, and perform well at a distance.

Their drawback however are recoil and bullet spread. However, these can be amended with the right attachments. They’re also quite hard to get, but well worth it once you finally unlock your machine gun of choice.

Sniper Rifles in Stalcraft

Snipers

Sniper Rifles are the most controversial weapon type in the game. Some players absolutely hate them and think that they’re trash, while others adore them. It’s undeniable however that they’re the perfect PvP weapon, as they deal the most damage at any range.

Their drawback however are the usual drawback you’d encounter with sniper rifles. A slow rate of fire, and a relatively low magazine capacity. What’s more, they’re atrocious for hunting mutants.

Shotguns in Stalcraft

Shotguns Stalcraft Weapons Guide

Shotguns are the creme de la creme when it comes to hunting mutants, there simply is no better weapon choice for doing so. However, when it comes to hunting more “humanoid” opponents, they simply struggle.

It’s not that they can’t perform well in PvP, it’s just that they’re outmatched by the other weapon types in this regard. The only situation you’ll have an advantage with a shotgun in Stalcraft is in close-quarter engagements.

Pistols in Stalcraft

Pistols

Pistols are a generally great side-arm choice, especially if you pair them with a shotgun or a sniper rifle. However, it’s important to note that their damage output compared to the other weapon types is rather small.

They’re a great tool if you’re farming crafting materials, and as a last resort if you run out of ammo with your primary weapon. But other than that, they’re pretty unremarkable.

Melee Weapons in Stalcraft

Melee Weapons

Melee Weapons are the last resort. If you have to use a melee weapon in a combat situation then something has gone horribly wrong.

The only situation where melee weapons are useful is for clearing rat dens and for finishing off downed players. In those situations, using the Crowbar is preferable, as it has the most range.
