Key Takeaways for Smite Assault Guide

  • Assault is Smite’s version of All Random All Mid
  • Assault works practically the same as ARAM works in other games
  • There are no roles in Assault, which practically limits you to a single role – Damage Dealer
  • You cannot return to base normally in Assault, the only way to return to base is to respawn after you die.

Smite’s Assault game mode takes the tried and true concept of ARAM and gives it the Smite flavor. There really isn’t anything that’s unique to Assault that isn’t present in any other interpretation of ARAM, it’s just a simple concept that makes for a fun gaming experience.

If you’ve had enough of Joust and Arena, Assault might be the next best thing for you. Keep in mind however that you don’t get to Pick a God in Assault, or else the all random part wouldn’t be true. This factor brings an extra element of chaos to games, as you’ll either get a God that you’re really good with or one you’re horrible with.

It doesn’t get any simpler than this, a single lane with no jungle to distract you on the side. The goal is simple, destroy the enemy’s towers until you reach the phoenix, then destroy the phoenix and take down the enemy titan.

The concept is quite simple, yet exceptionally chaotic since you have 10 Gods stuck in a single lane. This makes dying a certainly, which isn’t all that bad actually since gives you the opportunity to get some new items. You can’t return to base normally in this game, so, make the best out of the life you have. Quite poetic, isn’t it?

Smite Assault Guide: What Should the Different Roles Do?

Assault is a bit weird if you consider all the different game modes in Smite. In Assault, the only viable role is “Damage-Dealer”. This is markedly different than in Joust or Arena. Both those game modes struggle to establish the different roles, and yet somehow, the mechanics of the game modes allow certain distinctions to come up.

The mechanics of Assault, however, do the opposite; instead of promoting a variety of play-styles, it promotes just one play-style – reckless aggression! Since you’re unable to return to base until you die, you’re practically emphasized to play aggressively. You do this to earn the gold that you need for items, and to get the chance to buy those items at all.

Joust is the closest comparison to Assault, yet the main difference between them isn’t the fact that you can’t return to base, but the fact that Assault is 5 v 5, while Joust is only 3 v 3. This makes for a much more hectic environment, paired with the fact that you can’t select your Gods at the start of the match.

Smite Assault Guide: Tips to Win More Matches

  • Practice with the different Gods you have unlocked, that way you’re at least familiar with whichever God the game gives you.
  • Know what your God is capable of. There are no roles in Assault, yet, some Gods are better for certain things than other Gods.
  • Understand the synergy between your team and play to your strengths. Even a strong team composition can be brought down if you’re disorganized.
  • Always capitalize on deicides, a single team wipe is enough to get you the victory. Even more than in other game modes.
