I hope they use the remake and rebirth system. Seems like the best compromise between the old and new school of final fantasy. I liked FF16’s combat well enough but it lacked the depth that final fantasy games are known for.
Turn-based, ATB or Remake’s Hybrid system are all fine with me. I just really don’t want something like XVI again. Just didn’t feel it.

I really don’t care so long as we finally get a mainline entry where we get to control whatever character we want, since 2 games of dudes with dark hair have made me so tired of the archetype. I want a happy go lucky mfer like Tidus or Vaan. Better yet lets just have a lady, like Terra but gangsta like Aerieth.
But I do want another job system main entry like 3 and 5. But this time go all out on it.
Better yet give me Strangers of Paradise 2 but make the protagonist a young Mateus.
