Season 1 saw the return of Shipment and Shoot House as core maps to the multiplayer game mode. With Season 2, players will receive 2 more core maps, as well as 2 more maps for Ground War and Invasion. The core maps include a remake of a fan favorite and a map from the beta that was not part of the game’s official launch. The battle maps are reworkings of some of Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah POIs.

Dome (core)

First introduced to Call of Duty in Modern Warfare 3, Dome plays as a small to medium sized map. It gets its name from the iconic dome structure that overlooks the majority of the map, with a cat walk giving sight lines over the outdoor portions of the map.

Valderas Museum (core)

After being included in the Modern Warfare 2 beta, Valderas Museum was noticeably missing from the core map rotation with the official launch of the game. It will now make its debut in the full release of the game as a core map.

Zaya Observatory (battle)

The peak of Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah will be coming over to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer as a Ground War and Invasion map. The will include the facilities as well as the surrounding mountain cliffs. The natural elevation as well as man-made structures should allow for snipers to excel on this map.

Al Malik International (battle)

Including the tarmac and main airport building, Al Malik International will lend itself to multiple styles of game play, whether that is ranged fighting, close quarter combat, or vehicular warfare. Additionally, this is the closest we have gotten to a return to fan favorite core map Terminal – so far.
