Find Valorant Sens: Key Takeaways

  • The Valorant sens that works for others may not work for you.
  • Lower Valorant sens will result in better accuracy and precision.
  • Higher Valorant sens will result in easier flicks and tracking.

Finding the perfect Valorant sens can be a long and grueling process. It takes a lot of time, patience, and experimenting. However, once you find yours, you’ll be able to hit those heads, win more games, and rank up with ease.

Most people don’t know where to start when choosing a Valorant sens. Luckily, we’re here today to help you out. Here’s how to find the perfect Valorant sensitivity for you.

Effective Dots Per Inch (eDPI)

We first have to talk about eDPI or effective Dots Per Inch. A player’s eDPI is a numeric value that refers to their true sensitivity. The eDPI makes it easier to compare your sensitivity with other players and find out how fast or slow it is.

eDPI is calculated by multiplying your current in-game sensitivity with your mouse DPI. This is your true sensitivity and will remain the same regardless of the hardware or settings you use.

For example, you have a DPI of 800 and a Valorant sens of 0.500. You can get your eDPI by multiplying 800 by 0.500, which equates to 400 eDPI. This means that you prefer high sensitivity since the average eDPI for Valorant Pros is around 280 eDPI.

High Sens or Low Sens

The next step you need to take is to find out whether you’re a high-sensitivity or low-sensitivity type of player. Everyone prefers a different speed. High sens is usually better for quick movements like flicking and tracking. On the other hand, low sens is best for accuracy and precision.

However, Valorant does have a slower-paced gameplay, at least when compared to other shooters like Apex Legends or CS:GO. This means that low sens is usually better so that you can get some more accurate and precise shots.

If you’ve played shooter games in the past, it might also be worth converting that sensitivity to Valorant sens and seeing if that works for you. Otherwise, continue with the next steps.

I suggest trying out a sens with an eDPI of 500, 350, and 200. From there, you should be able to get a pretty good sense of what you prefer aiming with. Just go with what feels most natural to you and where you’re hitting the most shots.

A good example is if you had 800 DPI, your Valorant sens should be 0.625 for 500 eDPI, 0.438 for 350 eDPI, and 0.25 for 200 eDPI.

For reference, players like f0rsakeN, something, and ANGE1 are all high-sens players with an eDPI of 400 and above. Leaf, Nivera, Demon1, and Leo are all considered low-sens players, with an eDPI of 160 and below.

Now, the final step to finding the perfect Valorant sensitivity for you is fine-tuning it. From the exercise above, you should already have a baseline sensitivity that we can use.

Take the sens you’ve chosen earlier and add 0.1 to it, then try out out. Afterward, take your base sens again, but now subtract 0.1 from it, then try it out. Once you find out which of the three new sensitivities you like the best, continue to add and subtract 0.1 to it.

Once you prefer the middle sensitivity, start to lower the increments to 0.05. It’s pretty much the same process from here. Once you prefer the middle sensitivity, reduce the increments again and repeat the process. The lower the increments, the more precise your final aim Valorant sens should be.
