Halo Infinite Season 3: Patch Notes Key Points

The Season 3 patch notes bring a bunch of additions, updates, and improvements. We’re here to highlight some of the most important things you should be aware of when playing Halo Infinite Season 3!

  • Season 3 will feature 3 new maps at launch, including 2 Arena maps and 1 Big Team Battle map
  • The season will feature two new armor cores, with customization items available in the battle pass
  • Three new armor coatings will be available for all 7 armor cores
  • All players who sign in during Season 3 will receive free helmet attachments
  • Season 3 will introduce a new weapon and equipment for the first time in Halo Infinite
  • Season 3 will feature two Narrative events, Mindfall and Site Unseen, that will require players to complete challenges by playing matches and performing certain actions in the event playlist
  • Season 3 will introduce a new game mode, Escalation Slayer, where players will try to upgrade through different levels of loadouts by getting kills

Halo Infinite Season 3: New Maps

Halo Infinite Season 3 will feature not one, not two, but three new maps! There will be two arena maps, and one Big Team Battle map.

Cliffhanger: Cliffhanger is an arena map, naturally set on the edge of a cliff. This asymmetrical map features man cannons in the middle to ship players quickly from one side to the other.

Chasm: Chasm, another arena map, is based off part of the Halo Infinite campaign, and features a large chasm where players can fall to their death. However, players can utilize Grappleshots and use the chasm as an opportunity to make skill plays to maneuver the map in unique ways.

Oasis: Will be the Large Team Battle map being introduced with Season 3. This map features stunning scenery, and is designed for tons of vehicular action.

Halo Infinite Season 3: New Game Mode

New to Halo Infinite with the launch of Season 3 is the new game mode Escalation Slayer. In Escalation Slayer, players progress through different loadouts, going to the next level each time they get a kill. Getting a melee kill will the player down a level. The last loadout involves getting a kill with the oddball to secure the win!

The loadouts in order are:

LEVEL 1: Rocket Launcher, Cindershot, Repulsor
LEVEL 2: Energy Sword, Gravity Hammer, Grappleshot
LEVEL 3: Sniper Rifle, Skewer, Threat Sensor
LEVEL 4: Hydra, Ravager, Repulsor
LEVEL 5: Bulldog, Needler, Grappleshot
LEVEL 6: Battle Rifle, Commando, Threat Sensor
LEVEL 7: Shock Rifle, Stalker Rifle, Drop Wall
LEVEL 8: Heatwave, Sentinel Beam, Thruster
LEVEL 9: Bandit, Assault Rifle, Drop Wall
LEVEL 10: Mangler, Sidekick, Threat Sensor
LEVEL 11: Oddball, Shroud Screen

The mode will launch with Halo Infinite Season 3 in both a free for all style as well as a team based version.

Halo Infinite Season 3: New Equipment & Weapon

Season 3 will bring both a new piece of equipment, the shroud screen, as well as a new weapon, the M392 Bandit. These are the first new weapons and equipment added to Halo Infinite.

Shroud Screen: The shroud screen is a smoke screen projectile that produces an opaque sphere that players cannot see into or out of. However players can still shoot into or out of the sphere.

M392 Bandit: The M392 Bandit is a semi-automatic rifle designed for accuracy, it excels in mid-range fights. This weapon falls in-between the Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle.
