Fortnite players can rejoice that their time spent on maps created using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) will now reward experience!

This update includes maps in the “Popular UEFN Experiences,” “Try Out UEFN,” and “New in UEFN” Discover rows.

Looking for a squad to explore the new islands together? Make sure to download the Z League app, where you can register for tournaments, post your highlights, and find teammates using the newly improved LFG feature! More details here!

How Experience is Rewarded

Naturally, the more time you spend playing UEFN maps, the more experience you’ll earn. However, a major difference is your experience will be granted hourly to your account.

The rate of experience will be tweaked to award similar levels across Creative Islands, UEFN maps, and Battle Royale/Zero Build game modes.

Epic Games says this is a temporary solution while the developers work on other ways to earn experience. In the future, the developers plan to ensure that UEFN maps and Creative maps can reward experience in the same way.

What does this mean for Fortnite map creators?

The Accolades device in Fortnite Creative Islands will not change and is still planned to release Accolades to UEFN creators for future experience distribution. The goal of this update is to encourage players to play how they want and still be able to level up in the Battle Pass.
