Best Classes in Diablo IV

Diablo IV is just months away from release, and we know that you are preparing for your battle against Lilith when the game launches on June 6, 2023. Whether you have played the recent open beta or not, there are a variety of different classes to choose from. For a beginner to the series, this can seem a bit daunting. Which class is best in Diablo IV? And which classes best suit your playstyle? Read on to get these answers and more!

Key Takeaways

  • Barbarian: Rank C – easy to use but needs the right gear to work optimally.
  • Sorceress: Rank A – a glass canon but has tons of crowd control spells and immunity skills.
  • Rogue: Rank B – fast and agile but a little too squishy.
  • Druid: Rank D – Slow tank but can be very fun for more seasoned players.
  • Necromancer: Rank B – Not the best mobility but has plenty of ways to crowd control and survive the onslaught.

What are the classes in Diablo IV?

There are a total of five classes in Diablo IV. Each class is totally viable, depending on the gameplay style the player values most in selecting the best class. The classes are Barbarian, Sorceress, Rogue, Druid, and Necromancer. To get a better understanding of what each class does, we have broken them down for you below and given them an A – D rank. Don’t forget to share your favorite character class on the Z League App.

Barbarian

If administering tons of damage while also being able to tank sounds fun to you, then the Barbarian might be the perfect fit. Barbarians can equip a multitude of weapons, both one-handed and two-handed. They also can hold four weapons in their weapon slots thanks to Diablo IV’s new Arsenal System. While using the Barbarian is easy to get the hang of, ensuring your Barbarian has the appropriate gear attuned to your selected build requires careful consideration. For this reason, we are giving the Barbarian a C rank.

Sorceress

How does using AOE magic to bend crowds to your will seem? The Sorceress is all about crowd control while using elemental spells like fire, ice, and lightning. Sorceresses can also teleport around the field which greatly adds to their mobility and makes up for the fact that they are glass cannons. Since the Sorceress has extremely potent abilities to keep enemies in check while also covering their innate weakness with absorption and immunity skills, we are giving the Sorceress an A rank.

Rogue

Maybe you like to stand a bit back from the crowd while also having the option of getting up close and personal. If that’s the case, then the Rogue is for you. Rogues can use melee and ranged combat, making it a bit of a hybrid class. You will have a range of weapons to choose from like swords, daggers, bows, and crossbows. The Rogue is definitely a very potent attacker and can easily move around the battlefield with incredible swiftness; however, the Rogue is a bit squishy like the Sorceress but lacks the abilities to make up for this deficiency in the same way. For this reason, we are giving the Rouge a B rank.

Druid

Are you into shapeshifting into werewolves and werebears? The Druid will be your perfect fit if so. Not only does the Druid have access to powerful attacks in their shapeshifted forms, but they also have power over the elements while in human form. The werewolf form gives more mobility, and the werebear form adds more bulk. Given the Druid’s ability to reduce all incoming damage, it is the tankiest class in the game. However, because the Druid is the slowest class in the game and a bit underwhelming at the start, we are giving it a rank D for now.

Necromancer

Want to summon an army of the dead to help in your quest against Lilith? The Necromancer might strike your fancy in that case. The Necromancer relies on dark magic, raising corpses, and life-draining skills to overwhelm their foes. The class does not have the best mobility, but with the sheer amount of undead at your disposal, you can soak up most of the damage and easily control the battlefield. We are giving the Necromancer a B rank.
