Smite Arachne Guide: The Weaver

Welcome to our Smite Arachne Guide. Arachne, The Weaver. Mythology’s greatest example that human hubris has no end.

Smite’s depiction of Arachne is much more appealing than the actual depiction of Arachne in mythology. For those who don’t know, Arachne was a human girl who boasted that she could weave better than even Athena herself; because of her hubris, Athena cursed Arachne by turning her into a horrific spider.

Cursed or not, Arachne is still one of the best Smite Gods. So, maybe getting cursed isn’t such a bad thing after all?

Key Takeaways for Smite Arachne Guide

  • Arachne is probably one of the strongest junglers in the game
  • Spam your Web ability as much as possible
  • Arachne is pretty simple to learn, as her abilities aren’t that complicated

Arachne’s Abilities

Smite Arachne Guide Arachne Abilities

Starting off with her passive, we have Predator. Arachne’s basic attacks against a target gain Physical damage for every 5% the target is missing from their health. I.e, the closer they are to death, the more damage she does to them.

Venomous Bite is her first ability. Her next basic attack will deal more damage as well as inflict Venom on a target, which deals damage over time as well as healing Arachne. Nothing special, but useful for getting that extra bit of damage in.

Cocoon is her second ability. This one works similarly to the first one but is much more useful in my opinion. When you activate it, Arachne receives an increase to her attack speed; if all 3 attacks land on the same target they get entangled in a cocoon and are stunned for a short duration. There probably isn’t a better spell to stop a fleeing enemy than this.

Her third ability is Web. Just as the name implies, Arachne shoots out a web in front of her. Not only does the web slow down enemies passing through it, but it also spawns 2 broodlings that attack any enemies caught within it. But it doesn’t end there. Arachne gets a movement speed increase while traveling on the web. And the best part about this ability? Well, only that it lasts for 4 minutes and that you can have 3 web traps at any given time.

Night Crawler is her ultimate. It’s an area-of-effect spell that allows Arachne to deal damage to enemies caught in its radius as well as spawning a web in the spot she lands.

Ideal Arachne Build

Arachne Build

Arachne’s strongest position is arguably as a Jungler. So, this build focuses on emphasizing that role.

Start off by picking up an Eye of the Jungle as well as a Katana along with your usual assortment of potions. For relics, you want the Blink Rune and Purification Beads combo, it’s the most useful combo for ganking.

From there, upgrade your starters into a Seer of The Jungle and a Golden Blade. With those items in the bag, build a Bladed Boomerang, this item really helps with ganks. Follow that up with a Bloodforge, a Dominance, and a Deathbringer which you should upgrade to an Envenomed Deathbringer.

With all those items in the bag, it’ll be lights out for any enemies you come in contact with… quite literally.

Tips for Playing With Arachne

  • Start off your jungle routine by pre-deploying your web at the jungle camps
  • When ganking, use your ultimate to gain the element of surprise
  • Harass the enemy jungler as much as possible, if you dominate the jungle you’ll be more likely to win the game
