Smite’s Nike is just the person, well, technically; just the God that you want to bring to a fight. This is a sentiment that many of the Smite pros also hold, as he’s constantly being picked in tournaments. It’s easy to see why, as she’s one of the best Smite Gods

Nowadays, we associate the word Nike with a shoe brand, but that wasn’t the case in ancient Greece. Back in the day, warriors would offer tribute to Nike before going into battle, vying for her protection. In Smite, however, you don’t have to offer tribute, except for the nominal fee required to purchase her in the first place. After you unlock her though, you’ll see that she is worth every favor spent.

Nike’s Abilities

Smite Nike Guide Nike Abilities

Starting off with her passive, we have To Victory! Nike’s passive is probably the most unique passive in the entire game. At the start of the game, Nike sets out three goals for your team to achieve, upon completing these goals you are rewarded a laurel that increases your power and movement speed. This is a team-wide bonus, oh, and it’s permanent.

Her first ability is Rend. Rend makes Nike slam the ground three times and send out fissures in front of her that deal damage. Each subsequent fissure has an added effect, however, if an enemy gets hit twice, then they also lose some of their protections for a few seconds. And if they get hit three times, they are disarmed and cannot attack for a few seconds.

Barrier Formation has Nike conjuring up a barrier in front of her that can block ranged attacks. She can activate the ability again and collapse the barrier dealing damage to enemies that are caught in front of it.

Valiant Leap does as it implies, Nike jumps up into the air and smashes her halberd down to the ground, dealing damage to any enemies caught up in the blast. Probably one of the better abilities to initiate team fights with.

Her ultimate is Sentinel of Zeus. While the ability isn’t too flashy, it’s actually quite useful. Not only does it have a huge radius in which it damages and slows enemies. But it also gives you a shield based on a % of your maximum health. Combining this with your third ability is what your boxing coach would call “the good old 1-2”.

Ideal Nike Build

Nike Build

Yes, it’s true that you could build out Nike as a tank, but let’s be honest, where’s the fun in that? So, instead, here’s a build to make her an intimidating brawler.

Start off by picking up a Warriors Axe and a Mace, along with some health potions. For relics, you want to stick to a Blink Rune and Purification Beads.

After you’ve saved up some money, upgrade the axe and the mace into a Sundering Axe and into The Crusher. Now, some players prefer Decourer’s next, but I personally prefer getting a Soul Eater, as it further increases her survivability as a brawler. Following those, you want to get the Hydra’s Lament, Dominance, and finally the Deathbringer.

With all those items combined, not only will you hit like a truck, but you’ll have enough lifesteal that you can practically stay in the fight till next year.
