Season 2: 2-week delay confirmed

Activision has confirmed today that Warzone 2 Season 2 will be delayed. While it’s coming 2 weeks later than we were initially speculating, the good news is that we have a firm launch date from publisher:

Activision is stating that the additional time will be used to make ‘several changes based on what we have heard from our player community’, while pointing specifically at the new resurgence map as well as ranked play and new maps for Modern Warfare II. Astute players will note that it will have been 2 months since the last major update, Season 1 Reloaded, when Season 2 finally drops. Hopefully, Season 2 will be worth the wait!

Warzone 2 Resurgence Map

For many Warzone veterans, the announced return of Resurgence is likely the highlight of the confirmed Season 2 content releases. The reintroduction of Resurgence is a big deal as Al Mazrah’s slower pace has not been for everyone. While we don’t know much about the specifics of this map, we can be sure that run-and-gun playstyle will be back at the center of the Warzone experience.

Season 2 balance changes

Activision themselves are stating that Season 2 changes have a lot to do with community feedback. If this is the case, then perhaps the days of the RPK / Fennec combo are numbered. We’ll likely see some balance changes coming when it comes to loadouts that excessively limit recoil.
