You’ve finally gotten out of the lowest pit of Valorant rank, and now you’re on a constant grind to keep climbing the ranks? Good, as the journey from here on out will get tougher. Bronze rank can get extremely difficult to push if you keep repeating some common mistakes that are easy to fix. So, if you want to know how to rank up in Bronze and reach Silver, keep in mind the following tips.

Valorant Bronze to Silver Rank Up

Valorant is the most fun with friends, so to find fellow Valorant players and compete in tournaments, download the Z league app and use our LFG feature to build your own community.

Furthermore, check out our Valorant Rank Distribution list and general ranking guide. With that, let’s get started with the best tips for Bronze players.

Unbind Your Crouch Key

Although this may not apply to 100% of the Bronze players, most people in this Elo have a constant habit of crouch spraying as soon as they make contact with an enemy. Crouching can be a useful mechanic for throwing off the enemy’s crosshair and having better spray control. However, this is not the rank for it.

As most people in Bronze rank have terrible crosshair placement, you should expect them always to be aiming for your body. Therefore, by crouching, you lower your character model’s head, increasing your chances of getting a headshot. It is highly recommended to either stop crouching in your games or unbind the crouch key altogether.

Know When To Save And Buy As A Team

Many times in the Bronze rank, players have a scrappy buy because they don’t have the understanding of saving or full buying as a team. As gun advantage is a major factor in winning rounds, you will find yourself on the losing end if your team can’t consistently afford rifles or utility round after round.

If you lose a round, causing your team’s economy to plummet, it’s better to go for a save round as a team so you can have a full buy in the following round. The best way to ensure your team isn’t constantly forcing SMGs or Shotguns while on eco is to use your mic and ask them to go for a save. This will greatly improve your odds of winning on the buy rounds.

Know The Map’s Ins And Outs

By this point, you should completely understand all the maps in the game. Luckily, in each act, Valorant has 7 maps in the competitive pool rotation. Therefore, knowing the complete ins and outs of each map will help you gain a competitive edge over other players in the same rank as you.

You can always hop into a custom game and fully explore each map. Doing so will help you take mental notes of all the quirky corners people can hide in and off-angles that you should be expecting. Furthermore, once you understand the map better, you can cook up better strategies to catch your opponent off-guard.

Practice Your Gun Hygiene

Practicing gun hygiene is something you should do in each rank, but the Bronze rank is a great Elo to start. Gun hygiene refers to how each gun is meant to be shot for maximum precision. You should hop into the Practice Range and try out different guns to be comfortable with them.

Let’s consider the example of Vandal and Phantom. As much as there’s debate on the best rifle, they are both meant to be used differently. With Vandal, you should always go for taps and small bursts rather than spray. However, since Phantom has better recoil control, you can spray with it up to a certain distance. For long-range fights, you should be tapping with Phantom as well.

Use Utility To Peek Angles

Another mistake Bronze players make is dry peeking a common angle. If an enemy is holding that angle with a good crosshair placement or with an Operator, you’re more likely to die instantly. Therefore, make sure you use some kind of utility like a flash or a recon ability before peeking at common angles where enemies are likely to be positioned. Initiator abilities work perfectly in clearing angles while your team executes a site.
