Key Takeaways For The Different Currencies of Smite

  • There are 4 main currencies in Smite, these are Favor, Gems, Mastery, and Viewer Points
  • Experience points and Battle Pass points are also a currency but don’t have the same mechanics as the previous 4
  • Smite is quite fair with its currency system and rewards you constantly for just playing the game.

You have your usual in-game currency and your premium currency, although, you get so many rewards just by playing the game that you don’t even have to spend a dime to collect quite a sizable chest of premium currency.

The full list of currencies is Favor, Gems, Mastery points, and Viewer Points.

Favor in Smite

Favor Different Currencies in Smite

Favor is Smite’s very own in-game currency. You use Favor to rent or unlock new Gods, and to unlock certain cosmetic items. You can earn Favor by:

  • Completing the tutorial
  • Collecting level-up bonuses
  • Referring a friend
  • Completing a match (higher rewards are granted for longer matches and there’s also a Victory bonus for the winning side)
  • Having Goodwill grants a bonus to favor earned (Goodwill is basically a reflection of how many commendations you receive. The more commendations, the more goodwill you’ll have)
  • Earning the first win of the day for a given game mode
  • Collecting daily log-in rewards
  • Completing weekly quests

Gems in Smite

Gems

Gems are the premium currency in Smite. After all, Smite is a free-to-play game, it needs to make its money somehow. As was mentioned previously, you really don’t need to spend any money in Smite, as the game rewards you with Gems just by playing the game.

However, there are times when a certain skin or bundle is in the store that you really want, but don’t have the Gems for it, in those cases, it’s permissible to spend some money on Gems. After all, who knows when that specific skin will be on sale game.

Mastery Points in Smite

Mastery Goals

Mastery is a unique currency that is tied to a single God. The more you play with that given God, the more mastery you earn. There are multiple mastery levels with rewards at certain levels. These rewards can be in the form of emotes, unique recall animations, and special skins.

This currency is tied to the specific God you are playing and isn’t transferable. So, if you play a lot with Chronos, the mastery you earn with him will not be transferable to Baron Samedi and vice versa.

Viewer Points in Smite

Viewer Points

Viewer Points are a unique currency in Smite. You get viewer points by watching streamers who play Smite, and or Smite events. The Viewer Points system is integrated with Twitch’s Drops system, so it practically works the same way. Every few minutes or so, you’ll get the option to open a new drop, in the case of Smite streams that’s a chest of viewer points.

To earn these you have to link your Smite account to your Twitch account and simply watch streamers as they play. It’s a great way to have fun passively and to learn something from more experienced players. Just don’t forget to click on the drops whenever they come up, or else you’re missing out on valuable viewer points.

Experience Points and Battle Pass Points

These two aren’t exactly the same per se, but they work in a similar manner, so they get to share a header.

Experience Points are there to represent your account level, the more experience you have – the higher your account level is. To earn experience points you simply have to play the game. You also get a lot of useful level-up rewards along the way to motivate you.

Battle Pass Points on the other hand go toward leveling up your battle pass. Each battle pass level has unique rewards, either in the form of skins, chests, avatars, boosters, frames, and many many more rewards. It’s practically the same system as in other games that have battle passes.
