As always, what the best rotations on Kings Canyon end up being is entirely up to RNGesus; what we’ll be taking a look at is how you should go about navigating and traversing the map.

Prior to the release of Broken Moon, Kings Canyon was probably the “hilliest” map there was, with one part of the map being almost entirely flanked by cliffs on all sides.

One interesting fact that many people usually overlook is the name of the map; the proper name is Kings Canyon, not King’s Canyon. Why it’s called that I have no idea, if I were royalty then maybe I’d at least have a hint – must be because of the lovely Caustic Treatment plant I reckon.

Key Takeaways For the Best Rotations on Kings Canyon

  • The Eastern part of the map is probably the most lucrative part
  • The Western part of the map is probably the least lucrative
  • The map is quite expansive, so it’s a smart idea to have a good team comp to help you traverse it faster

Kings Canyon Map Layout

Before we move on to the best rotations, let’s take a look at the anatomy of the map first.

Rotations on KIngs Canyon Map

As you can see, Kings Canyon offers a beautiful sprawling map simply waiting to be explored. Apex Legends however is not an exploration game, far from it. Beautiful and sprawling usually means “a lot of open ground to cover.” The ideal playground for Vantage mains.

After the rework, Kings Canyon got way more than just a facelift that’s for sure; many new areas were added – but at the same time, many holes were also plugged, so rotations are both riskier and more rewarding now.

Rotations in the South of Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon South

For the South, you’re going to want to start either at the Relic or at the Map Room. The Relic route will take you through the Market to Caustic Treatment. From there, you’re going to want to rush to The Cage as the ring will probably be hot on your heels. After that, head on over to Capacitor and finish the run. Having a Pathfinder on the team will definitely speed this process up.

The alternative route has you dropping at the Map Room, after which you’ll have to clear through the Repulsor, Hydro Dam, and Swamps; before you head into the Capacitor, if possible go through Labs, as that’s how you’ll get the most loot. This is probably the only route in the game that has that many checkpoints.

Rotations in the East of Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon East

In the East, you’re going to want to start either at the Swamps or at Basin. If you start at Swamps, you’ll have to go through the Hydro Dam and The Cage before you shift on over to Capacitor.

The alternative route will have you landing at Basin, after which you’ll go and clear The Rig before heading south into the Swamps. After the Swamps, clear Labs and head into the Capacitor. This second route is more likely to be lucrative, but also more arduous.

Rotations in the North of Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon North

In the North, you can start either at The Rig or at the Crash Site. If you start at The Rig, you’re going to have to go through Basin to reach Artillery. After Artillery, clear the Crash Site if you have time, if not, go straight to Containment.

Alternatively, you can land at the Crash Site and take the following route. Go through Spotted Lake and read the Runoff. After clearing it, head into The Pit and clean it through; at the end, you should ideally finish your right at Containment. But, let’s be honest, it’s probably going to be somewhere else depending on the ring.

Rotations in the West of Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon West

In the West, you can take the following two routes. The first one will have you drop at Relic and head to the Gauntlet. After those are cleared, head to the Airbase and quickly rummage through it before heading into the Bunker and into Containment.

The alternative route is practically a shortened version of the northern route. Drop at Spotted Lake and go to Runoff. After Runoff, clear The Pit and head into the Bunker and finish your run at Containment.
