Our Choices for Best R-99 Skins In Apex Legends

We’re probably going to miss your favorite skin for the R-99. In that case, feel free to let us know on the feed in the Z League app. Don’t worry, we promise to try and hold the tears in.

Jokes aside, let’s set some ground rules first. All the skins that we’ll be taking a look at today are available for purchase in the loadout section; because of that, skins that are limited edition or event items will not be included in this list. With that out of the way, let’s get on with the show.

R-99 Rule of Law

Best R-99 Skins in Apex Legends Rule of Law

We were looking for words to describe the Rule of Law skin for the R-99, and the only things that came to mind were “this skin goes incredibly hard”. There really is no better way to describe this skin than that, just look at it! The golden engravings with the leather, the star stamped on the side above the magazine, and the mini saddle on the stock of the gun?

This thing is just a beauty to behold. Personally, I’d run it with any Legend, although we think that it’s best paired with Fuse’s Board to Death or Bounty Hunter skins – Who doesn’t like an Australian cowboy, right?

R-99 The Alchemist

The Alchemist

You’ll be doing everything by alchemy with this R-99 skin. It’s so needlessly over the top that it’s great! It looks like something a young mob boss would use in those cliche gangster movies; it has the golden finish, a golden chain, golden spikes, golden dog tags on the side – it probably even fires golden bullets.

Still, it has a particular charm to it that’s irresistible… maybe it’s because of the gold? Paired with Revenant’s Shadow of the Sun or Revelations skins and you’ll have effectively achieved the shiniest skin combos possible.

R-99 Siren’s Song

Siren's Song

Who knew that the siren’s song of old was just a fully automatic burst from a submachine gun? The Siren’s Song skin for the R-99 is particular, to say the least, but we guess even Atlantis has people playing Apex Legends nowadays.

The coloring of the Siren’s Song is interesting because it’s primarily light blue and purple, and the gun is quite reminiscent of a mechanical shark in my opinion. It’ll probably pair really well with Wattson’s Vaporwave and Kawaii Kitty skins.

R-99 Trial by Fire

Trial by Fire

Even though the Trial by Fire series of skins are just purples, they’re definitely not something you should overlook, as is the case with the R-99’s Trial by Fire. We think that the R-99 probably has one of the coolest if not the coolest applications of this skin, as it has a fire animation constantly streaking upwards on certain parts of the gun.

Considering the R-99 has the fastest rate of fire in the game, it’s probably not too far away from actually catching on fire.

R-99 Cosmos

Cosmos

Players usually either love this skin or they hate its guts. The Cosmos skin for the R-99 is one of the strangest skins in the game as it’s reminiscent of a bright and nebulous scenery in space… or it’s what you get when a unicorn barfs all over your gun, there is no in-between.

Regardless of that, it’s definitely one of the more creative skins that exist in the game.
