Key Takeaways for Smite Khepri Guide

  • Khepri is one of the most versatile Guardians in the game
  • He is currently one of the most popular Gods in the game
  • Khepri is easy to learn but hard to master

There are many things that can be said about Khepri but the most important one is that he gives the best hugs in the game. Khepri is known as the Dawn Bringer in Egyptian mythos. During the day, it is Ra who guides the sun, however, at night, that duty falls to Khepri; who ushers in the dawn.

According to mythology, Khepri is a symbol of Power and Loyalty. Two traits that are quite virtuous, as such – he was practically made to be a Guardian right from the start. Caring, friendly, and daring, these are the traits that every Guardian should have, and Khepri has them in abundance.

Khepri’s Abilities

Khepri Abilities

Starting off with his passive, we have Fortitude. Every 5 seconds, Khepri applies a shield to himself and any nearby allied Gods equal to 2% of the target’s Max Health. This effect continues even if Khepri takes damage, however, the rate is slowed to 10 seconds from 5.

Abduct is the ability that has earned Khepri his nickname of “The Hug-Bug”. Abduct is a skill shot-type ability that makes Khepri charge forward in a line. If Khepri manages to hit an enemy God he abducts them and can drag them wherever he likes for a few seconds. Khepri also gains increased Protections when doing this.

Rising Dawn is Khepri’s second ability. Khperi rolls the sun forward (although, in my opinion, he shoots it instead). If this ability hits an enemy God they take damage over time and have their Protections debuffed. However, if it hits an allied God, they receive Damage Mitigation up to a certain percentage.

Solar Flare is Tien Shinhan’s first… wait a minute, wrong character.

Solar Flare is Khepri’s third ability. It’s an AoE ability that quite literally calls the sun down at the target location. Enemies caught in the blast take damage and are rooted in place for a few seconds.

Finally, we have Khepri’s ultimate ability – Scarab’s Blessing. Scarab’s Blessing is an AoE spell that only affects allied Gods. Gods hit by this ability gain a Movement Speed buff, and if they get killed while the ability is still active, they get revived at Khepri’s current location with a portion of their health restored. This ability does not revive executed Gods.

Ideal Khepri Build

Smite Khepri Guide Khepri Items

Since Khepri is a Guardian, he’s practically automatically assigned to tank duties. And for that, a Defensive Build is in order.

Start off the game by buying a Benevolence and a Glowing Emerald. Upgrade the Emerald into the Gauntlet of Thebes as soon as possible and start building those stacks. Follow that up with a Contagion once you have the money for it.

From there, grab a Spirit Robe, a Gladiator’s Shield, and a Genji’s Guard for Magical Protection. Once you hit Level 15, it’s highly recommended that you upgrade your Benevolence into a Heroism to get the maximum benefits from that item.

For relics, it’s the standard support relics. Grab a Cloak of Meditation and a Magic Shell. Upgrade these throughout the game as the need arises. Don’t feel chained to these two relics. If a particular situation arises that requires the effects of another relic, then get that relic instead.

Tips for Playing With Khepri

  • Always use your third ability before casting your first ability. That way, the enemy you’re targeting won’t be moving all over the place
  • Khepri is very adaptive to whatever situation you put him in. Feel free to experiment with him, as he’s more forgiving even if you fail
  • You’re a big unit of a God, try to body-block fleeing enemies as much as possible
