Key Takeaways For Smite Hades Guide

  • Hades is one of the best Smite Gods in the game, if not the best outright.
  • He has a very aggressive skill set, build accordingly
  • You should prioritize increasing your maximum damage potential
  • You’re there to end fights, not to begin then, keep that in mind when playing Hades

Hades is one of the Gods in Smite that has always been a good pick regardless of the season, which is why so many people keep picking him over the other Gods. It’s impossible to go a few games without seeing someone pick Hades.

Because he is so efficient at doing his job, you usually see him insta-banned in ranked. After all, the best way to counter Hades is not to have him in the match in the first place.

Hades’ Abilities

Hades Abilities Smite Hades Guide

Starting off with his passive, we have Blight. Blight is important because it applies to all enemies which you hit with your basic attacks, it also gives all of your abilities a further effect on said enemies.

His first ability is Death From Below. It’s practically a teleportation AoE damage spell, but if an enemy is blighted they are also slowed as a result.

Shroud of Darkness is his second ability, it’s amazing for team fights as it silences all enemies in a cone in front of you. Furthermore, if they’re blighted they also have fear applied to them.

Devour Souls is his third. It’s another AoE ability that deals damage in a radius around Hades, if an enemy is blighted they also detonate which causes further damage in an area.

His ultimate is Pillar of Agony, it creates a vortex around him that deals damage over time as it drags enemies toward him. Blighted enemies are in more trouble as their protections are also reduced.

With abilities like this, it’s pretty easy to see why we ranked him at the top spot in our list of the best Gods in Smite.

Ideal Hades Build

Hades Build

This build is specialized for if you’re going solo mid or as a jungler. Hades as a jungler isn’t unheard of, it’s just not that common, but, he can perform admirably if you chose to do so. Anyways.

Start off by picking up Vampiric Shroud, Bancroft’s Talon, and your potions as starters. Two relics that are also “must haves” are the Blink Rune and the Aegis Amulet. Though you should prioritize the Aegis before the Blink.

After you’ve got some gold saved up, upgrade your starters into a Sacrificial Shroud and into Nimble Bancroft’s Talon. With those two items you’re practically set, but why stop there? After you’ve upgraded those items, start working towards a Warlock’s Staff and build up the stacks. If you’re feeling confident, you might want to get a Warlock’s Staff even before upgrading your starters.

From there, build a Spear of Magnus, a Doom Orb, and a Typhon’s Fang. With all these items you’re practically set. The point of this build is to maximize damage as much as possible, survivability is something that lesser Gods are concerned about – not you.

Of course, if certain enemy Gods are proving to be a nuisance, you should consider grabbing a Magi’s Cloak instead of one of your damage items.

Tips For Playing With Hades

  • You’re a nuker, think like a nuker, don’t be the first one to initiate fights unless you’re certain you can win them
  • Focus on farming for the first half of the game, you’re already a capable god, but with the proper items you’re unstoppable
  • Hunters are your worst enemy, avoid one on ones with them as much as possible
