Welcome to our Smite Artemis Guide. Artemis is the Goddess of the Hunt in Greek mythology, which is quite ironic since she is being pursued by her suitors most of the time.

Smite Artemis Guide

Key Takeaways for Smite Artemis Guide

  • Artemis is the queen of Attack Speed Builds
  • Scatter her traps across the map, especially in places where the enemy doesn’t expect them – lane entrances, the jungle, around corners, etc…
  • Artemis does a lot of damage to CCd enemies but tends to be easily CCd herself

Artemis is one of the most interesting figures in Greek mythology. She’s a uniquely chaste God in a mythos full of profligation and infidelity. A good example of this is the fact that Artemis and her twin brother Apollo are both products of Zeus’ infidelity to Hera.

While most girls grew up playing with dolls, Artemis grew up playing with a bow in the many forests that covered the ancient Aegean. This made her an exceptionally skilled hunter whose cunning was sharper than the arrowheads she used to hunt her prey.

Artemis’ Abilities

Artemis Abilities

Starting with her passive, we have Still Target. Artemis deals 15% increased basic attack damage to enemy Gods affected by CC, and 30% to enemy minions. Her passive works exceptionally great in tandem with the following ability.

Transgressor’s Fate is Artemis’ first ability. It effectively works as a trap that Artemis can dot around the map. Whenever an enemy walks into one of these traps they are rooted in place for 2 seconds and take damage over time. Artemis can put down 4 of these across the map.

Vengeful Assault is one of those abilities that enhance your stats once activated. Whenever Artemis activates this ability, she gains a massive increase in her Attack Speed, as well as a respectable increase in her Movement Speed as well. This ability can last anywhere from 3 to 5 seconds at Maximum Level.

Suppress the Insolent is Artemis’ third ability. It’s a range AoE that deals massive damage in a certain area. Enemies that survive the rain of arrows are subsequently slowed by 25% in the next 2 seconds.

Calydonian Boar is Artemis’ ultimate ability. Once activated, Artemis summons a Calydonian Boar to charge at the nearest enemy God. The boar itself deals a ton of damage upon contact, as well as stunning the foe for a few moments. Artemis also gains temporary CC immunity whenever she activates this ability.

Ideal Artemis Build

Smite Artemis Guide Artemis Items

There’s one build to rule them all, one build to find them, one build to bring them all, and in darkness bind them – the Attack Speed build.

Start the match by picking up a Leather Cowl and a Light Blade. Once you have the money, upgrade your Light Blade into Qin’s Sais. Follow that item up with the Silverbranch Bow. With these items acquired, you’re practically done with your core items.

After those, grab Atlanta’s Bow, a Deathbringer which you should upgrade into the Envenomed Deathbringer, and a Toxic Blade to round it all out. At Level 20 you should also upgrade your Leather Cown into the Hunter’s Cowl

Artemis loves CC, but also tends to get CCd a lot; so you should definitely get Purification Beads to counter any unwanted CCs. A Belt of Frenzy will also help give you and your team that extra bit of damage output in those clutch team fights.

Tips for Playing With Artemis

  • Scatter your traps on the entrances to your lane, that way you prevent ganks from happening
  • Artemis is one of the squishiest characters in the game, she deals a lot of damage as a result though. Don’t ever initiate fights with her, as your job is to finish them, not start them.
  • Unlike most Hunters, Artemis doesn’t have a quick “getaway” ability. You can however use her ultimate to get away from any foes that might be pursuing you. This works on all but the most determined pursuers.
