Pearl was a map released with the launch of Episode 5, Act 1, on  June 22, 2022. It’s set in Lisbon, Lisbon District, Portugal, and features a creative underwater theme where the entire city is covered in a huge dome.

It has a more traditional map layout and skipped on the gimmicks and dynamic elements. There’s a middle area that offers passages to the two sites. B main offers longer angles, while A main offers more close-range battles.

Common Attacking Strategies

One of the most common ways to attack on Pearl is by splitting between mid and A main. Getting mid-control will allow you to attack A from two sides, giving you a huge advantage. You can also

Over on the B site, the strategy is pretty simple. Smoke every angle and then plant. However, this is easier said than done. Most defenders will use Operators over on B. This makes it way harder to enter. So make sure to flash first and use utility to check corners.

Common Defending Strategies

For defenders, a split of 1-2-2 is often used. One person will be watching A site, two persons will be at mid, and the final two will be at B. The mid players will usually be positioned at art and mid doors. This makes it easy for these players to rotate to help the A site and B site defenders, respectively.

The final two players will be then left to watch B site. Typically, an Oper will play in halls, screen, or pillar, depending on his abilities. Then the other player will primarily hold site with a rifle and use their utility to try and slow down the attackers. Like we’ve mentioned, the mid doors player should also be close enough to help deal with rushes over on the B site.

Best Agents on Pearl

Next up, let’s talk about some of the best Agents to pick when playing on the map.

Harbor

Harbor is one of the best Controller Agents to use on Pearl. His High Tide wall is great at blocking off multiple angles and cutting the site in half with ease. His Cascade also works wonders at pushing from A main, B long, art, or mid doors. It almost feels like he was specifically made for this map.

Gekko

Gekko and his Wingman can cause a lot of damage on Pearl. He can easily plant using Wingman from safe distances on both sites, allowing for fast and simple executes. Pair it up with a Cove from Harbor, or at least a smoke then it’s freelo all the way.

Viper

Like Harbor, Viper also excels in Pearl thanks to her Toxic Screen. It makes for an easy way to enter the site. However, her Viper’s Pit is also insanely strong at controlling areas both when defending or playing post-plant as attackers. Her Snakebite is also a solid tool for slowing enemies down, specifically in mid doors, art, and A main.

Jett

We’ve already mentioned a ton of great Op angles on Pearl. Where there’s an Op angle, there’s a Jett with her Tailwind ready, waiting to dash out as soon as she fires her shot. Jett’s Tailwind can also be used aggressively on art, B long, or A main to cover a ton of area quickly and surprise enemies. Partner her with a Gekko or any flashing Agent, and you’ve got yourself a deadly entry-fragging combo.

Fade

Finally, we have Fade. Fade is excellent on Pearl because of her ability to easily scan both sites, thanks to her Haunt. She can also use Haunt in a lot of creative ways on Pearl, unlocking new ways to scan enemies. Her Prowlers are also amazing at clearing close corners at A main, art, and mid doors, among others.
