On December 4, 2022, an image of a new small-scale Warzone 2 map for Resurgence started circulating online and it looks like the real deal.

Shortly after it was being shared online by many, the image started being taken down due to copyright violations. This could indicate that it was a real map and it was mistakenly shared/leaked online ahead of the intended release date.

Download the Z League app, where you can register for tournaments, post your highlights, and find teammates using the LFG feature!

The image of the map might still be searchable on some threads/websites but it seems like they’re quickly being taken down.

For those that haven’t seen the image, it was a screenshot from a PC with the “Activate Windows” message. It also included some verbiage stating that the map supports Resurgence (for 50 players), a Ground War area for 24 vs 24 multiplayer, and DMZ mode. We also saw some location points including Greenhouses Town Center, Industrial Ruins, Beach Club, Power Plant, Beach Club, Port, Castle, Shipwreck, and Apartments.

Our best guess is that it’s a similar map or duplicate of the area in the MW2 campaign called “Recon by Fire”.

They’re likely still working on this potential new map and will include it as part of the new year release during the recurring seasonal updates.
