Haven was a map that was released during Valorant’s beta phase. This means it’s a map that the OG Valorant players will definitely be most familiar with. It’s located in Thimphu, Thimphu District, Bhutan, and is reflected by the Himalayan design with naturally forming basalt columns.

There are a total of three sites on Haven, making it one of the more unique maps in Valorant. Each site is quite small and can be attacked in a variety of ways. This makes it quite hard to defend on the map, which is why having a Sentinel or two is essential on the map.

Common Attacking Strategies

There are numerous ways to attack on Haven, thanks to the three different plant sites. When attacking the C site, it’s best to split in C long and garage. For A, you can go towards A long and sewers. For B, you only have one main entrance.

Typically, lurking is a huge part when attacking on the map. This is done to catch enemy rotations off-guard or allow your team to rotate themselves. Running back and forth is key to winning on the map and confusing your enemies. Don’t give up control on areas unless you’re 100% sure you’re committing to a specific site.

Common Defending Strategies

Most winning team compositions on Haven require a Sentinel on their side; some even double down and get two. Having a Sentinel on your team instantly makes it easier to defend all three sites, all while being able to watch for flanks.

Usually, having a player watch A long and A short on A is good enough. Then you’ll have a single player on B since everyone can easily rotate through their respective links. Finally, have one player garage and another playing on the C site. You’ll usually want your Sentinel controlling C or A with a supporting teammate nearby.

Defending on Haven is a tough task. However, it can be done through teamwork and proper communication.

Best Agents on Haven

Now, let’s take a look at some of the Agents you should play on Haven.

Omen

Omen is an excellent pick on Haven because of his long-range smokes. This frees him up to lurk and get map control elsewhere. Omen also edges out the other Controllers because of his teleport and blind combo. This can be used to trick enemies and easily enter sites, especially since sites will be undermanned on the map.

Cypher

Cypher’s Trapwires can be huge game-changers on a map like Haven. They aren’t bound by range, making them an insanely effective anti-flank tool. This also makes it hard for enemies to enter the site without going undetected. Not to mention that Cypher can also use his Spycam for gathering information, even if he is nowhere close.

Jett

It’s hard to find a map where an Agent like Jett isn’t good. She’s mostly great at taking those aggressive early battles and trying to get an early pick. She can also use her Updraft in a ton of unique ways on the map and create some unexpected encounters.

Killjoy

As we’ve mentioned above, Sentinels are key to defending in the map. Killjoy excels at defending sites through the use of a well-planned setup. She can also cover both C and garage at the same time, making her an insanely valuable Agent. Killjoy makes it easy for her team to retake using her ultimate, making it easier to give up site control.

Sova

The final Agent we recommend is Sova. One advantage that the defenders have are the numerous close-range angles on the map. With Sova, these close-range angles can easily be cleared. His recon can also do wonders because of how open the sites are. Having a good Sova on your team can definitely help you win more rounds on the map.
