Bind Overview
Bind was released during Valorant’s beta period, making the map’s release date somewhere around April 7, 2020. It’s located in Rabat, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Morocco, and follows a city in the desert theme.
It has two sites, each with two different entrances. Bind also features one-way teleporters that can be used from A short and B long and takes you to hookah, and showers, respectively. It has always been quite defender-sided because of the quick rotations and unique flanking opportunities that teleporters provide.
Common Attacking Strategies
The most common way to attack on bind is to simply split your team between the two entrances on each site. This way, you can take a lot of areas and clear more angles way quicker.
However, you can also play slow and send a lurker to the other side. The lurker should patiently wait for rotates or slow-push the site. Once he gains control of the site, your team can take the teleporter to quickly rotate and execute on site.
Common Defending Strategies
It’s very common for teams to play a 2-3 split on Bind. A Sentinel-Initiator combo works great as partners. The Initiator gathers early information and then rotates to the other site if he doesn’t find any enemies. The Sentinel is then left to defend against lurks or sudden rotates.
Using your utility early is one of the best ways to defend sites and prevent pushes. Typically, A short gets the most love in terms of utility because it’s one of the most common areas for attackers to play on. However, you can also throw skills in B long, especially info-gathering abilities from Initiators.
Best Agents on Bind
Here are our recommendations for the Agents you can play on Bind.
Killjoy
Killjoy is pretty much a no-brainer on Bind if you’re looking for some defensive firepower. Her utility can be extremely powerful on B site, pushing enemies away and preventing rushes. She can also be a great flank-watcher on the attacking side, while also providing Nanoswarm lineups for post-plant plays.
Fade
Fade is one of the best Initiator Agents you can play on the map. The map offers a ton of open spaces. Simply get your Haunt on top of high areas, and you can quite literally scan an entire site. Her Prowlers are also a solid way to clear the many close angles on the map, and her Nightfall is an excellent tool to rush the smaller sites found on the map.
Viper
Viper is a solid pick because of her ability to cover multiple sight lines using her Toxic Screen. Cutting the site in half makes it insanely easy to enter site, blocking off various angles in the process. Her Viper’s Pit is also a great way to play post-plant since it covers a majority of the site, making it hard to retake.
Raze
Raze can use her abilities to oppress enemies both on the attacking side and the defending side, making her an excellent Duelist choice. Her Paint Shells and Boom Bot are solid tools that you can use early from A short. They can be thrown directly into A short or through the teleporter for hookah. Her movement is also one of the best ways to counter defenses and quickly infiltrate any site.
Omen
Finally, we have Omen. Omen excels in Bind because of his long-range smokes that are basically available map-wide because of how small the map is. This makes him a solid lurking Agent while still providing help for his team. His abilities also opens up a ton of unique faking opportunities on the map.
